Super Nice Knife
This product is a replacement that I sadly left behind at an Air BnB. It works great just like the old one. I love Chicago Cutlery.

Holds a sharp edge.
Compared to Victorinox this knife blade is sturdier, holds a sharp edge much better and is so much easier to use because of the quality. It’s my go to knife. I’ve had mine for more than 30 years. The new one I bought as a gift is amazingly the same quality.

Best knife on the market for the money… period.
Best knife on the market for the money period. There is one at the restaurant I work at that has been there for 12 years. I just received my own in the mail and I’m in love.

Just OK
This is a large, long kitchen knife as advertised but its too lightweight to use for something like cutting a watermelon or chopping carrots. The steel is just not dense enough. Its fine for chopping lettuce or cucumbers but as far as it being a universal tool, I would have to say its more like a 2 or 3 on the 1-5 scale.

It is razor sharp as it comes out of the package.
This knife is comfortable to hold and easy to use. It slices vegetables almost without effort. Cuts sandwiches with ease. I have not used it on meat but have no doubt that it will work there as well.

Great knife for the price.
Nearly exactly as described. It IS made in China. The wooden handle does have cleanly and precisely finished edges--meaning they are nearly square and uncomfortable. A few swipes with sandpaper fixed that. It was sharp right out of the package. It would slice 18# printer paper with no snags from rough spots the entire length of the blade. It is full tang. It is the proper size with good balance for an 8 inch chef's knife. The blade stock is slightly thiner than my old Chicago Cutlery similar knife, but this one is 6 dollars less in price today compared to when I bought the other knife more than 40 years ago at Pennys. But DO NOT run this through a dishwasher. The high temperature water will ruin the handle and the highly caustic dish washing detergent will eat the metal blade.

Fabulous Knife
Bought this to supplement the Chicago Cutlery Knives we already have. Have had them for 33 years. Was so thrilled to find another chef's knife to match the one we have. My husband & I no longer fight for this knife . . . we have two now.Very happy with these knives. Also bought a couple of paring knives . . . . unbelievable that they're still around - a match to our 33 year old set! The wood handle on our original is worn and smooth & the blade is worn down some after years of use. The new handle is definitely square and you can feel the edges in your hand. Love this knife . . . . would be lost without it. Use it nearly every day.

Great knife but
Great knife but I was replacing a knife that I lost and that was obvously smaller. I picked one that is too big. My old one was probably a special order that Amway gave away with the purchase of other thing in the 1980's. The new one does not fit in the wood block so it will go into the junk drawer with the other big chefs knives and i probaly won't use it much. The one I needed has to be 1-2 inches short and not as broad. I would mind exchanging it for qa smaller one, but I don't have the packaging or the packing slip. All were tossed in the excitement of Christmas.
