Well designed. Once placed it will stay where it is.
I didn't want to order something from amazon to use to hold up my shower curtain. So I had Originally bought a totally different rod from the local hardware store. It was rather simple. Easy to setup. It kept falling down though. Would be in the middle of a shower and it would fall on me. Finally it broke.I decided to try Amazon after all. The product choice was astounding. They have so many to choose from. The reviews are horrible though. I would find a curtain rod I liked the look of to just see its reviews would reveal some horrible flaws. That wasn't working out so I decided to ignore the reviews and just look one that sounded good in the description. Most of the rods sounded like they worked exactly like the one I had originally purchased at the hardware store. Basically extend it, twist it. Hope it holds. This one was described as working differently. The extend it a inch past the actual size of the gap was the major part.I decided to go with this one. It got here. I extended it so that one end of was touching the wall on one side of the gap and the other ends cap was completely beyond the gap on the opposite side. After all the cap looked like it was a good inch in size. Twisted it to lock it. Then squeezed the ends together to compress the rod. Put into the gap. Placing it where I wanted it, slowly releasing the tension. It solidly pressed against the walls on both sides of the gap (which the other rod never did) and hasn't fallen in the three months I have owned it.Worth every cent I payed for it (worth even more actually, not that I am going to tell them that).

Not just for curtains-many uses!
We have a large cut out in our living room over the couch. Below is a drop down to the first floor. My 2 year old started climbing up the couch and trying to look over, so we needed something there to deter her from trying to look over. These worked perfectly. They’re sturdy and secure and after a few days, she stopped trying to climb up the couch to look over. Easy to install, one end opens to lengthen and you twist tight to set desired length. Very simple. Ends are coated with durable rubber to avoid ruining walls.Highly recommended for a simple way to block off an area like this. Supervision is obviously still required, as this isn’t meant as a gate.. if she wanted to, she could maybe still climb over. But by the time she tries, we are there to stop her.One thing that could be better is the packaging- they came wrapped in brittle plastic, which was in a cardboard box, which was in another giant cardboard box. Each were shipped separately, resulting in tons of waste.

iDesign Tension Rod
Despite the negative comments, I took a chance and ordered it anyway. This is a really nice rod and I'm very happy with it. Installation was easy - I followed the instructions, twisted slowly till snug to lock, and installed. Currently hanging a heavy black-out curtain with no issues of slipping. I ordered 2 more and installed them with no issues.

Rod is sturdy but NOT easy to maneuver
Was worried about buying this at first because it seemed to be such a great price but I needed it to hang curtains over an 80+" span and I didn't want them falling down due to cheap construction, obviously. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! It seems to be holding up just fine and I'd venture to say I could probably hang a good bit heavier curtains if I desired. However, I will say that finagling the rod to get it to the right size for my space was NOT very easy... This rod is sturdy, yes, but NOT easy to maneuver. Patience and some good elbow grease is key!

Nice shower curtain rod
Nice shower curtain rod, nice weight to it. I had some difficulty getting it to tighten - and believe me, I read the instructions first - and reviewed them several times to make sure I wasn't missing something. For some strange reason, the part where it tells you to "twist until it locks", I was twisting for literally 5 minutes! I had to pound the rod on each end, resize, and twist again a few times before I could get it to lock. I'm not sure what the problem was, but it finally did and it looks and works great!

Perfect curtain rod for our window!
We moved into an apartment with textures ceilings so we couldn't use standard curtain rods. We have floor to ceiling windows in our bedroom and wanted to hang curtains. I found this Constant Tension rod and it works perfectly! The curtains are blackout curtains and while not heavy, they are a thick material so we were worried the rod might not hold. The rod is holding them with no problems! It was also extremely to install. We couldn't be happier with this rod.I do have to say we were not too happy with the box our rod came in. The box had mold on it at the ends. It made it a bit gross to open. Other than that we're loving the curtain rod.

Great tension rod.
This is a great, good looking tension rod. It is easy to use, just measure 1" longer than the space to put it in. Then turn the small end AWAY from you until it locks into place. The first couple of turns nothing happens but then you will feel the tension building up, then it locks. I'm using it for a light blocking drape which I pull across each night to close then pull the drape back across to open in the morning. The tension holds for that. I can't speak to how it would hold up under a moisture situation since mine isn't being used in the shower but I can recommend it as a good, workable tension rod!
