Surprisingly great
I'd seen a fellow crafter online recommend this product and decided to get it to improve my own indoor product photography. I'd previously been having to take photos of my items outside because no indoor lighting was ever good enough. Either it was too yellow, too blue, too dim or cast shadows too badly. This is the first light I've found that had multiple options and where the pure white really does come up white on camera. It also has a great variety of brightness settings. The brightest one is REALLY bright. I've discovered I like using it for lighting my workspace when I'm crafting with small beads, as well as for photography. It's also very sturdy. I've had it for several months now and it's still holding up well. Just a note about the clip that lets you clip it onto the edge of tables and such: While it's a strong clip, it holds on better to thinner surfaces than thicker ones. My one complaint is that it comes with no assembly instructions and you do need to actually attach the phone holder when it arrives. I was able to figure it out, but it's not obvious what you're supposed to do at first. I'm still not even sure why there was a plastic thing screwed on there that you have to take off and then... it seems to have no purpose after that? Again, there were no instructions, so for all I know I was supposed to use that screw-on plastic piece for something. Still, I'm able to use this the way I need it, so it's not a big deal.

A 4" Ring light is too small to eliminate all shadows, but is a fine adjustable warm/cool light.
Bought this for Zoom meetings on my phone. It's great not to have to hold the phone up for an hour! This is a clamp-mounted 4" ring light and independent stalk for phone mount. It holds the phone by the side edges, so you have to make sure you don't clamp it over the volume buttons or on-off buttons. Will droop if set to crazy angle. Physics, folks! Once phone is clamped you can bend arm to use phone horizontally or vertically. Base clamps on to table or desk.I found that clamping it on to my laptop was problematic- I thought it likely to mar the finish eventually, though it didn't in two uses -- so I got a piece of plywood to put under my laptop and I clamp it on to that. Thus I can use it as a portable desk and sit at a table, in my bed or in a chair and Zoom on my phone with the light, or while using Zoom on my laptop using the light.I use the light at medium brightness. It's top brightness setting is somewhat blinding indoors.I haven't tried it in the sun yet as a fill-light. Might want full brightness there.Pros:The long bendable stalk allows me to put the phone at eye level to avoid those unflattering chin-up views. The ring light has a cool and a warm setting, and is quite bright. I only need about half brightness usually. The color (warm or cool) and level of brightness are very easy to adjust.Cons:For a true, perfect shadow-killing ring light you'd want a ring at least as big across as your face- 8-10 " so light can come from all sides. This is only 4" across so I find it necessary to have some other light in the room to help reduce sharp shadows. If you are buying this for "flattering, even lighting" STOP. You need to invest in a large-ring light instead. If you're under 25 that may not be an issue for you (yet!)I am mindful of the reviews that say eventually the stems break off of the clamp base, so I try to be gentle with it. The light pulls its power from your computer via a USB connection.

Good, no assembly instructions though.
This product required some basic assembly. This might not be intuitive to everyone so I included pictures which I hope are helpful.I am using this for my phone (Samsung Galaxy S9) to do video chat with friends and for DnD. It's not a problem but worth noting: S9 users will have to mount (about a finger space) below the power button (otherwise it will active the side buttons). I am mounting this to a IKEA corner desk with a thickness of approximately 1.25 inches and sometimes a drawing desk of about .75 inches (when I feel like filming my art videos)I am not experienced in using the "ring" light that came with it and tend to think of it as an extra feature that doesn't hurt if the need arises. (At most I used to once to off-set light coming through my window during video chat). It is USB powered and has 3 settings for color (one white, one more yellow, and a setting that mixes these two). Each color can be adjusted for brightness. The buttons that control the lights is back lit (which I found really helpful). I've had this for about a month and use the mount about 2-3 times a week. I don't frequent the use of the light, but at this time it is still working (I'l report back if it burns out, etc).So far, I have not noticed any damage to my desk from use and it works based on my needs.

Perfect for what I need it for
I got this for my desk area at home. And it’s just perfect. I love the sturdiness of the product. I have an iphone 11 and it holds great, even with the phone case on. (Phone case isn’t bulky)I love the 3 settings on the light, and what I love too is being able to change the brightness to the light!Main uses for this light was so to add a tad of extra lighting on my desk for reading, FaceTime chats, and other stuff and it honestly does the job.For the price it’s awesome.
