Alert 5030AS 32 SMD LED Cord Reel Task Light

This is one of the nicest LED shop lights I have found in my search for one.One of the most important being the 120 volt outlet in the handle. That way you can use it as an extension cord as well as the bright white LED shop light. Most LED shop lights have the transformer to lower the voltage down to LED operating voltage in the plug at the wall. This model has it in the handle so that way it's full voltage up to the handle, hence the outlet in the handle.It way brighter than my older Snap-On fluorescent that I'm replacing. A much whiter light. The head is sturdy and the magnet is a nice detachable setup.What was the nicest feature was the Alert Stamping Customer Service department. I had a reason to call for a question, and they were most helpful.

Nice reel, great light output, the hook is about worthless, and the magnet could be stronger. I had my last one slide off the fenderwell while I was replacing ball joints, it hit the floor and shattered, I tried to tape it back together but never worked again. Need to be way more careful with the placement as it's weight is about all the little magnet on the back can handle. Edited, I received this and the quality is much better than the one I bought previously, the magnet has been replaced with a swivel one substantially stronger than the other. It appears to have been completely redesigned, and for the better. Not sure if it's a fragile as the original and I'm not going to try and break it, but it does seem sturdier.

My wife got me this light. I love the light brightness and nice to have the cool light/not burn myself on it as is common with the older metal framed incandescent lights. The reel also works well, though the light does hang down about 2 ft like another reviewer noted but that is ok in my application.The magnet on this light is great and the strongest I've ever had on a light - it holds very well and feels like it takes a few pounds of force to remove it. That is a good thing because the hook on this light is plastic. I've had these hooks on other work lights an they all broke within a short time. So with this good magnet I keep the hook folded in most of the time to try and protect it. If it had a metal hook, I would have given this light a full five star rating. I still can see myself buying another one for my other shop area because the rest of the light is so good.I just wish the people that designed these actually used the product in a work environment as they would quickly realize the hanging hooks break easily when dropped which happens a lot with work lights, especially when working in tight spaces like under a car.

I originally bought this for my dad probably 5 years ago and this past Christmas he asked for another one. Not because anything had happened to the first one, but because he loved it so much he wanted another. My dad works in residential construction and is a general handy man. He kept the first light in ceiling of his garage/work bench space to use mostly while working on cars. The 2nd one he keeps in his work truck so he can use it on-site as he sees fit. It genuinely wouldn't surprise me if he buys some more for his employees. This light has seen some dark days on construction sites and is still in perfect working condition. A great purchase if you're looking for a working light.The magnet on back is endlessly useful. Sticks to the inner hood of cars, the ceiling of his truck bed, anywhere magnetic. The pull cord is constantly used as he keeps one hanging from the ceiling so the coil gets a hard pull out every time he uses it and a hard recoil in when he's done.

I ordered a similar light for our maintenance shop about two years ago and we have used it extensively. It now does not retract well so I wanted to order a replacement but could not find the same light. This one cost a little bit more I think but it has all the features of the former light and is 150 lumens brighter! We are all very happy with this purchase. We love the fact that the light has a magnetic backing so you can stick it to the vehicle you are working on. Sometimes hanging the light from something is better so the hook is great. The extra outlet allow you to plug in the tool you are using directly to the light so no need for extension cords. The cord pulls out and retracts well.

Got this as a gift for my dad. Spool functions well, doesn't get snagged like some cheaper ones. LED's are plenty bright. The hook has a ball socket so you can get the light in any direction you want.I have one suggestion: Put painter's tape or masking tape on the magnet before you use it. If you get any metal shavings on there you will NEVER get them all off. If you use tape the shavings will just come right off with the tape when you replace it.

This light is great. It is cool to the touch. It has a magnet to stick to a car hood and other places where hooks aren't available. It also has an outlet near the on/off switch which is really helpful. The form factor of the bulb itself is a tad bigger than expected, but for me that isn't a problem. I hung it near the garage door opener and it has enough cord to reach all around my vehicle. I'd buy this one again even though it is costly. It is worth it.

The purchase was great and so is the brightness of light. However as a weekend car enthusiast with less than a total of 8 hours of use, the LED crackled and flashed out. I do not recommend this unit.

I like this light. I drilled out the holes on the bracket and the mount so I could install on the ceiling rather than using the eye bolt. Retraction works well and light is bright. Exactly what I needed to light up the work space behind the fairing.
