AO-CHAN CAN'T STUDY

Great show (not for kids) and it arrived in good condition. There's options to watch with Japanese audio and English subtitles or English audio with no subtitles. 4 stars because I couldn't find an option to have English audio with English subtitles.

There is a good, solid story, but it is shorter than the 24 or 25 minute standard for half hour anime, so there is a lot of fluff at the front, and even more redundant fluff at the rear-- but even so, this is a well written story, makes sense, avoids the overbearing behavior of most "schoolkids find a first love" anime, and is actually entertaining.The visual effect of the tiny father is cute but actually works against the story because you simply cannot really accept him as a mature adult-- or even an immature adult. The background of the family life of Ao Horie needs to be developed more, and there is no background for the character of Takumi Kijima, and there is enough meat in the story to make it work for a regular half hour format and to run two thirteen episode seasons. That is not the way they decided to go, and strangely, three Japanese who watched it said the English dubbed soundtrack is better than the Japanese, but they could not exactly say why.This time it is the story of a smart, good girl, a smart and athletic guy, and both of them trying to do the right thing in each and every situation. I wish it had been fleshed out, because as it is there is too little meat and too much bone for the meal.It still rates a four out of five or an eight out of ten. It is that good.

Ao would love to be a normal girl, study hard and work as a normal person would. However with a father who is famous for Erotic novella, she can not seem to catch a break. Especially when the most wanted boy in the school seems to have an honest crush on her, and her mind goes in very adult ways. Can this shy, yet slightly warped girl be able to get her studies done, all while being "coached" by her father in the ways of the birds and the bees and land the boy. Or will a former friend stand in her way and swoop off with the prize?Another set of short episodes which are cute to watch and nice little time wasters. You see character development on everyone, from the assistant, to the rival, to her big hearted, yet very perverted father. Give it a watch if you have nothing else to see and enjoy as poor Ao tries to suffer teenage angst and high school drama.

「青ちゃんは勉強ができない」の北米版ブルーレイのレビューです。収録時間は約３時間。ディスク１枚に全１２話入り。もともと１５分枠でしたので、オープニング／エンディングをスキップして観たらアッという間に鑑賞完了なのは間違いないところ。再生環境はＰＳ４（薄型）です。デフォルトは英語音声（字幕なし）ですが、日本語音声（英語字幕は消せない）に変更可能です。再生中のオプションメニューでも字幕は操作できなかったので、日本語音声にて再生すると英語字幕は強制表示。BGM代わりに流して在宅勤務（事務）とかにも良さそうですが、性的な単語／話題が頻出しますので、家族がいる所では再生注意です。ちなみに。お風呂のシーンや水着回でビキニの上が取れるなどの場面はありますが、具体的にアノ部分が描かれてはおりませんので（泡で隠されている／背後から映すなど）、過度な期待はなさらぬ方が賢明かと。
