Made My Speakers Better Than New!
My old pair of Optimus Pro LX5 II speakers had been increasingly making a rattling noise for about a year, with the left one being a lot worse. It finally got to the point that any sound caused it to rattle. After doing some research I learned that the foam surrounds had probably gone bad so I checked and sure enough there was cracks showing up in the left one. I barely touched it and a large chunk broke off. After watching several YouTube videos on people replacing the surrounds I decided to try to repair the speakers myself. But first I wanted to try to remove the speakers from their housing to make sure that I didn't break anything before ordering new surrounds. I was having difficulty removing the prongs that attach the speaker wires to the speaker frame so I sent a question to the seller who quickly responded on how to remove them. After completely removing the speaker from the housing I ordered the new surrounds and they arrived two days later, much quicker than the estimated delivery. It only took a few hours to put the new surrounds on and now my speakers not only work without any rattling it actually improved their bass response. Not that these small speakers had that much bass to begin with but the improvement is definitely noticeable. The material these surrounds are made from feels to be superior to the old ones which were quite spongey. These surrounds are definitely worth a five star rating.I've noticed some people in their reviews have said the surrounds are too big for their speakers. They just barely fit the cones of my speakers so I guess I got lucky. If anyone else runs into the problem of them being too big there is a workaround listed in the instructions on how to make them fit.

Saved me a lot of money
My Optimus LX5 speaker stopped working after. It is about 15 years old and the foam tore and is pretty much disintegrating. I didn't realize it was reparable, but luckily I happened upon this product before I went out and spent a couple hundred bucks on a new speaker. It took quite a bit of work to replace the foam, but in the end the speaker is working as good as it ever did. The instructions are pretty detailed but basically the install goes like this:-Open up the enclosure and removing the speakers-Using a razor or an exacto knife cut off as much of the old foam as you can. This is not so bad on the metal edge of the speaker, but you have to be very careful on the cone as it's pretty delicate.-Wet a paper towel or something with some rubbing alcohol and rub it on the glued on foam that you couldn't get off.-Scrape some more off with the razor blade (I also used a small flat-head screwdriver to scrape the metal, which seemed to work pretty good)-Repeat until you get all the goo off-Use the included glue to glue the new foam on. The instructions have details on how to center it on there that make it sound kind of complicated. Wasn't hard for me, I don't know if maybe some speakers are harder than others.-Put everything back together. The whole process took about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours or so. So not quick, but better than having to buy a new speaker.

Great, Inexpensive, Repair instead of looking for replacements.
This kit comes with the glue, instructions, and 2 foam replacements, as shown, but not stated in the description.Let me tell you, these little foam gems saved me $100-$150. Was able to repair my existing center Channel Speakers instead of having to replace them. The instructions are clear enough but the removal of the old foam pieces and cardboard "gasket" was a bit of a pain... though that's not a fault of this product, just FYI for anyone doing this. Installing the new ones was super easy, just took a bit of patience and, for my project, was a bit messy... though I don't think I let the glue set up enough so that's my bad. Recommendations are to take your time setting everything up, clean the old foam off thoroughly before starting, make sure you line up everything before hand, and be patient when attaching the foam to the speaker after gluing... it can take a bit for the foam to adhere... but be aware, once it does, it's set pretty good.Overall, installation was easy enough and I HIGHLY recommend these for anyone who has good speakers with bad foam edging before looking for replacements.

Disappointed
Was so excited a first to purchase these foams to fix my existing Optimus speakers. Thought it would be easy enough when reading the description, so I ordered them. They came fast so I began the process with the enclosed instructions which seemed easy enough to follow. I removed the old foams without issue and then started to install the new foams per the instructions. The instructions never mentioned that you only get one try to glue the foams to the speaker cone and if it doesn't fit well, then you are done and the speaker is ruined. It wasn't an issue of aligning the foam to the speaker cone, but it was the issue that the foam was actually a little too big for the speaker cone causing a bump on one of the edges which after gluing it you are done and have to throw everything out including the speaker. Make sure before gluing these foams to your speaker cones that they fit perfectly because you only get one shot. Technically you can clean off the glue and foam you bought and start over but you only get 2 foams in the package and it's not worth buying more foams. I ended up throwing out my speakers and buying new ones.

Having patience and taking your time is the key to successful installation.
I was a little apprehensive about taking on this project but with some planning, familiarizing myself with the instructions (including watching the video), and laying everything out I needed made the job turn out great. It just takes some patience. It's critical to do a through job of cleaning the old foam off the cone and prepping it for the new foam installation.I choose this route since I could not find suitably sized speakers that would fit in the center channel cabinetry.

Saved a great center channel speaker
Wish a ring was included. Found a hint to use a 50Hz tone to keep voice coil centered, sound and tactile info.
