Sturdy mount for specific applications.
This mount is a pretty simple yet effective way to attach a camera to a vesa mount monitor with a few potential downsides that may or may not be easily overlooked depending on your use case. In my case any of the listed downsides have little impact on the quality of the the experience of using this product, but your mileage may vary. First off, this has very sturdy construction and easily holds my Canon Eos 80D SLR with any of the lens that I plan on using with it. It fits perfectly on the vesa mounting bracket and the holes line up on both of the the mount patterns. The holes are threaded perfectly and the included thumbscrews turn easily allowing for a painless installation process. The thumbscrews are a bit on the longer side but I had no issue with interference although someone looking for clean look might be put off. The 1/4 20 screw for mounting the camera to the plate did require a screw driver to secure it, but I do not need to regularly remove the camera so I don't really mind. The mount slides into the plate and should be easily removable using a tab of spring steel. I say should, but in my case the stand interferes with its removal, again really not an issue since I do not intend on removing the camera regularly. I have no issues accessing any of the various doors (battery, memory card, data cable) or attaching or removing the lens. The small amount of play in the camera mount doesn't impact my usage as I do not require precise placement and once the camera is placed it doesn't shift on its own. If you aren't really concerned with quick/easy removal of the camera once attached to the mount and super precise placement isn't an issue, but you want a really sturdy mounting solution, this might be a really good option. Most of the cheaper desk mount camera stands were still pretty expensive and even the more expensive ones seem pretty flimsy, vs monitor stands where even the cheapest one still has to be able to support a pretty decent amount of weight. Also, since this just uses a standard 1/4 inch threaded stud, you could pretty much mount just about anything with that threading to it.

Works for me!
I read the reviews that this mount is shaky when mounted to their dslr. I have found that this is not a problem. I am using a sony zv-e10 with a sigma 16mm 1.4 lens. Its a small camera but the lens has a lot of weight. Its been rock solid mounted with the extra tall monitor arm. I leave it set up all the time as I do white board animation and talking head shots every day. I used to have a tripod set up and it was a pain to have to set up and tear down every day. I have dogs, cats kids running in and out of my office all day long, my set up has never been at risk. The thing I found to be the best thing is the studio is set up all the time, so if you want to create a quick video on a trend, or capture a thought for quick turn around, there is no barrier. Its a easy a turn on the lights, turn on the camera, action.Again with all my reviews, this is the best price point to get this vital piece of a home desk studio.

Works but just a bit wobly
The adapter meets my needs. I am using it to mount a teleprompter to my desk arm mount. The adapter is steady and secure. It wobbles just a little bit but not where it makes a different.

Great design - some issues
I really wanted to love this product. It's a terrific design solving a single purpose without unneeded "extras": adapt a VESA mount to hold a camera. But I found the item received did not quite live up to expectations.Pro: wonderful design for a very useful function; steel components are well made and the welded frame construction is rock solid; little or no competition for the function (VESA to camera and nothing else).Con: the M4 VESA screws are far too bulky and too long, interfering with both trim plates and the VESA arm mount plate, so I had to replace them with plain jane M4-8 fasteners; the 1/4-20 flat head screw was too short to reach the threads of a very popular model webcam, requiring yet another replacement; the (rubber) camera base adaptor's release mechanism does not clear the channel, requiring a forced removal. Conclusion: this item could be great, but the execution falls short. Will I buy again? If I need to mount another camera, probably yes, because there are few if any alternatives.

Worst connection
At least for my use case, this was NOT A GOOD PRODUCT. The arm my camera is mounted to already has a 360 rotation and after using this adapter the thread CONSTANTLY gets loose on its own and makes my camera swing downwards when there's a lens on it. Each time, the camera could have fell off and broke! I don't understand why the camera adapter is just a plastic hole, anything you screw through it (ie camera) is not secured in a 360 degree and will get loose BY ITSELF overtime. All I was looking for is a simple 1/8 female connection on a vesa mount. Did not need any of the fancy disconnect mechanism that also did not work. The spring on mine was slightly bend, hence I need to push down on the tab very hard to be able to slide the adapter out, however since my tab is crooked, I cant push it all the way down with it hitting the bracket. Need to unscrew the mount EACH time to take out the adapter. Over-engineering is really a bad thing.Only reason for 2 stars is the vesa mount was nicely made.
