Another masterpiece from Mr. Doyle. Completed in two days! Looking forward to the sequel. Highly recommended for those who like mystery and and adventure.

Over stretched and unnecessary plot
The storyline seems to go nowhere. There are too many loopholes and open threads. Even if you skip several pages still you will be right there in the story. There are so many questions hanging in the air and no answers or answers not satisfying. Not worth the reading. There is unnecessary suspense created to drag the story. Highly disappointed.

Thoroughly entertaining
This has become my most favourite out of all of Christopher Doyle's books. It is the perfect amalgamation of fantasy, mythology and technology and I can't believe I finished it in just a couple of days! The Sangha alongwith Satyavachan and "Saptas" continue their fight against Shukra and his monsters. There wasn't a moment when I wasn't intrigued. The author brilliantly navigates through all the characters and plots to give us a story which won't let you rest. We can clearly see the shift in the characters and their relationship. We actually feel them grow from being children to being adolescents. The characters are so vivid and real that you feel attached to them. The author has expertly written a particularly long action sequence which was breathtaking and I loved it to the core.Maya continues to be my favourite character. She has to unnecessarily go through a lot of struggle to prove her worth but she continues to hustle nevertheless. I am also growing fond of Raman Kapoor. I think we can really take some inspiration from his determination and never-say-die attitude. The rest of the characters are equally effective and invoke emotions that they should. There is also a huge surprise for readers who have read all of Christopher Doyle's books. If it grows into something, I feel it will trump all the other series I have read so far.Again, the author has superbly explained the science behind some of the phenomena we might say are supernatural. It has generated great interest in me to read more about the science behind them. With enough plot twists and monsters, this book will definitely keep you hooked from the first page to the last and the end will make you wait eagerly for the next book of the series!

Completely Enamored
The adventure filled sequel to 'Son of Bhirgu' is one filled with emotions, suspense and twists. The book neatly starts off from its prequel and culminates in a cheerful climax. Throughout this book, author has very adequately walked us through the various phases in the training of the protagonists. But the real interesting part is when the journey to the mists of Brahma begins. From here on, the plot makes the reader fastened to their seats. The attempt to unfold the secrets at Maya's house, the subsequent crusade and interim anti climax was certainly a curl in the plot. However, the author has brilliantly scripted the final climax which brings in delight to the reader. The author has done immense research in Hindu Mythology and explained the science behind some of the spectacles. He has elaborated all the references at the end of the book, including chapters and verses. An exciting book for fantasy thriller lovers and eagerly waiting for the third part of this series.

A gem of Book!
Just wow!I was not sure whether i would love this book or not,but let me tell you that its masterpiece and nothing less of sort. I really admire the way author has presented everything in book. Its spiritual, its mythical and its unputdownable. The more you read more engrossing it turns, making you completely submerged in the process. Hats off to Christopher Doyle to write this gem of a book. Awaiting 3rd book of the series

Good but lost touch compared to his previous book
Christopher doyale always amuses me with his avid knowledge of history and fantastic historical plots.. his earlier books were off the charts.. I would have given a 5 star but this part 2 of pataala prophecy has somewhere lost it's touch like the previous book... But overall a good read

Exciting
The book itself is exciting. I enjoyed the first one in the series and the second is also similarly good. I wasn't expecting much honestly before reading these and looking at the title alone. I thought they would be another retelling of mythology which I have personally got tired of. But it was different - this is a fantasy series for young adults as I found out when I started reading but it was interesting enough so I stuck with it even though I'm no longer a teenager. My excuse is, the author is not either! :DIt channels a a bit Harry Potter but in the end all fantasy novels are fairly similar in plot. So it wasn't a turn off for me.But I do have a problem with one thing in these books and the author in general and that is the number of chapters he has in all his books - there are about 100 chapters (in that ball park, don't remember the exact count) in a book that is 400 something pages. Some chapters are just 2 pages, and between one chapter and the next even the scene hasn't changed! And if you see the chapter title you can guess what's going to happen in it. Not sure why the author chose to write that way and why the publisher went with it. That is a terrible idea.
