Pretty impressed with the quality of the dog door. I mistakenly ordered the dog "door" instead of the dog thru the wall door, so I had to go the Endura's website and order the wall kit. Easy to find and quick shipping, although not cheap. Once I had the wall kit part and watched the videos on installing it and read thru the directions. My all-thread came with the barrel nuts already lock-tighted onto them. The foam gasket was already in place as well. So everything about the kit was pretty well explained between the video and the directions. I have to say though, in the video they show a young girl with probably less than average skills install this door kit through a wall with fake stucco on the outside of the wall over plywood. It's a decent representation of what needs to be done but in no way representative of what's entailed if you're actually cutting through a stucco exterior. My stucco was an inch thick. Pro tips - diamond tipped concrete blade on a 4" angle grinder cuts through it really well, but tape a plastic bag over the hole on the inside of the house so you don't coat everything with concrete dust inside. The included silicone is fine, but you may want caulking that matches your exterior for the outside of the trim pieces. Overall, great product and probably easy install for a thru-a-door install, but considerably more difficult through stucco walls.

I was a little hesitant about ordering this dog door, due to the fact that it is very expensive. But I am so glad I did! I had it installed by a carpenter who was also building me a dog ramp. This dog door is definitely worth the money. The magnets that are on both the bottom and sides work very well at keeping the door shut tight. My 80 pound chow mix has no problem opening the XL size double flap door. I ordered the double flap door to help keep the weather out, but I'm sure the single flap would work just as well in milder climates. I am very happy with my purchase, and would purchase this dog door again if I needed another one.

I bought this product last spring, and am taking the time now to come back and review because this product is GREAT! Heavy duty and hard wearing for my big strong Rhodesian Ridgeback. On windy days it does not blow open. Its is really great. I bought the Large bronze one, and for a dog door it is attractive because you can see it is so well made. I just wish the slide-in door came in black or brown.I hesitated because of the price, but it is totally worth every cent!

I waited way too long to have a dog door installed! Me and my dogs-Basset hounds who are 78 and 62 lbs- love the freedom it brings to all of us. It took 2 days for them to get the hang of using it. I had it installed in our basement walk out steel door by a handyman. I live in a colder climate and so far there are no drafts. It seals well. I had a small landing built outside the door to making it easier for them to reenter. I ordered a large because my 78 lb boy is short and wide!

great door but a couple problems with the install. first, this door says it will fit 1/2”-1” thick door. it does, but you need some tools. you have to disassemble the frame, cut the metal (grinder I guess? then a file to clean up the edge..? it doesn't recommend how)then reassemble it. then the screws to assemble the door into the opening are too long so they suggest you cut them. I did and now the ends are shard so it wont screw in. (why they don't send a couple different size screws to accommodate the size I don't know). so a trip to the hardware store and a couple hours later I finally got the door installed. it looks great, very durable, just a pain to install in doors thinner then 1 3/8” thick. If I didn't have the tools to cut and file, I would have sent it back. they need to make it easier for the consumer. if your door is thicker than 1” you are golden. easy peasy. but not so much for 1” or thinner.

We have used doggy doors for 20 plus years! This is the best one ever! The flap stays closed. It was easy to install It is very sturdy, but the dogs had no problem getting use to the sturdy flap!

I contacted the company, told them my exact situation, dog size, where I live (suburban desert), etc. I spent extra on the double door because that was their reco and it doesn't preform as promised.(Professionally installed, no magnets removed)

After 20 years of dog doors that never closed properly, I realized this was contributing to my shocking gas bill. Even in So. California it can get into the 30's on winter nights. I installed the double-flap door just before our first-ever blizzard warning. The weather was pretty wild, trees falling, 49 mph winds! This flap never wavered. It stuck tight no matter what, and almost snapped closed after my dogs ran through. Even my small puppy (30 lbs) had no trouble getting out. Well worth the price. I will probably save it's cost in heating over the next few months.
