Fifa Street

I played FIFA street 3, and I've played Pure Futboll but those were just not well done and that becomes obvious as you start playing FIFA Street 12, which gets it spot on. The FIFA 12 engine is amazing, and they've tweaked it and put it to good use here. It's actually got a completely different feeling to it -- I'm a very good FIFA '12 player and I do very well online by keeping things really simple very few tricks, etc. mostly just playing a neat & tidy tactical game. Well, in FIFA Street, I find I actually have to do the things I don't normally do in FIFA. The gameplay is very different because of smaller fields and more emphasis on ball control. I'm not nearly as good in FIFA Street and I do enjoy FIFA 12 games better because of my playing style, but FIFA Street is different and I really appreciate that. You have different game styles you can play and they all work really well and give you a different flavour: 5-on-5, 6-on-6, 2-on-2 panna, 2-on-2 freestyle, futsal. I play best on futsal -- which has out-of-bounds and fouls so it plays a bit slower than the other styles -- because of my FIFA '12 experience (I think of a football-basketball hybrid playing this). I'm not so good on panna as that really puts the emphasis on tricks but keeps scoring a compelling part of the game by accumulating points for doing tricks but only counting these when you do score. I could never really get into the virtual pro in FIFA, but here it's an integral part of the game via the World Tour and I actually do like customizing my character. You get to unlock all kinds of clothing, skill moves, and increase you attributes. You can also hear your character speak on the field. One thing that worried me a bit though is that after playing for a total of ten hours, I think I had better skills than Messi. That doesn't seem right. One other point here. Seems to me that online you can only play with your own squad (which you acquire and improve on the world tour), so if you were hoping like me to beat Barcelona with Bayern Munchen online, that's not going to happen. I'm taking a star off on fun because of that. I've come up against a lot of guys online on FIFA '12 that really seem to enjoy the dribbling and tricks aspect but I find playing a defensive, counter-attacking game works really well to shut them down (and it's probably a frustrating experience for them). If you're one of those guys, or just want a different experience, this is the game for you.

I've always been a big fan of soccer and although FIFA '12 is an awesome game, I don't seem to enjoy playing it. However with Fifa Street I get to play Soccer at a much faster pace keeping me engaged. The field sizes almost reminds me of hockey which I also love. The great thing about this game is that there was effort put in by the developer to add more depth. You can play in a variety of game modes included a "create your own mode" feature. The fields/venues are also very awesome. Everything from a high school gym to a rooftop to the middle of a busy night time city atmosphere. Not to mention that they got rid of the "unique" yet slightly weird/cheesy character models they've used in past Fifa Street games. The only thing missing is "John Motson here with Andy Gray...". FIFA '12 & FIFA Street are two totally different soccer games but for me personally, FIFA Street has stolen my heart!

Still fun in 2019 (offline) despite the lack of server connectivity. 90% of the time I cannot connect to any EA servers. I have no interest in playing online so I don't know if there is multiplayer or not. However, I was worried that lack of server support would neuter the offline World Tour and this is not the case. Very fun.

This game is great. I prefer this to Fifa because it's more entertaining visually and has more of an arcade feel to it. Having said that, I do own Fifa too, and do play with my friends who wants a more traditional soccer game. I usually play this game when my young nephews and nieces come over for the holidays.

The game itself is a welcome alternative/ supplement to the yearly FIFA entries. It brings back a little bit of the spirit of the old NBA/NFL Street games from EA Sports BIG, but the game (especially the "World Tour" Mode) seem a little rushed and not quite as fleshed out as it is ambitious. The various modes are great though and provide a variety of ways to play. The engine itself is good but not great; sometimes your player will collide with another player and suddenly it looks like he is playing on ice. The opponent AI is good but you will find yourself yelling at your computer-controlled teammates when they inexplicably leave your goal wide open in a critical match. If you like FIFA but are looking for a more fast paced, arcade-y experience that is great to play with family or friends, then I recommend picking this up. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a deep and involved single-player experience, you may be better serve looking elsewhere.

Was a little late to get to me but that's fine because it's a great game if you like nfl street you'll like this game.

El juego resulta una refrescante visión del famoso FIFA con versiones de calle, desconozco porque dejaron de hacerlo, pero la verdad es muy buen juego.
