Perfect, performs exactly as described
Perfect, performs exactly as described. So fun to boil it, then cool it and boil again. Perfect for my science loving kid who can't wait to show his teacher. It does seem a little fragile though.

The liquid does move to the top when you hold it... but don't expect it to actually bubble/boil... it's more like a thermometer
I was kind of expecting this to literally boil up and bubble violently, based on something my science teacher showed me like 15 years ago. Unfortunately, all it does is essentially act like a thermometer. It's still very neat - the liquid seems to defy the laws of gravity as it 'runs' up the tubes and tries to stay at the top (then quickly sneaks back down when you let go). But don't actually expect violent bubbling like you'd see when you, say, boil water on your stove.Keep in mind the glass seems to be thin. It'll likely break and leave a sharp mess if you drop it (not to mention blue liquid all over the place... though I want to imagine it shouldn't be too difficult to clean up if you use a hair dryer to turn it into a gaseous cloud? But I dunno the toxicity of this, so just don't spill it, I guess). Also, I tried "cheating" and warming the top bulb after the liquid escaped there to see if I could force it to bubble violently, but it didn't do anything, much to my disappointment. But all in all, it is still kind of nifty to show to friends, but it will get boring to you after the first few tries. I'll still give it a 4 because it kind of does what it's advertised to do, although looking at the image and looking at what I received, I can tell you you get maybe a quarter of the liquid shown in the picture. When all of the liquid drains down, expect the bottom bulb to have a liquid level of about 1/8 (I feel like the pictures imply that bottom bulb will be about half full when all the liquid gets there).

Works great! Very fragile! As described! Very pleased!
Loved these as child, got one for my son as a stocking stuffer and he was amazed!Arrived in perfect condition and worked perfectly!Great for young science enthusiasts!Very fragile though, children need to be warned to squeeze gently and handle with care.

Very breakable!
I love these, however I will not buy anymore. They are somewhat flat on the bottom. So they don't stand up well and fall over easy. They need to be more evenly flat on bottom. I broke 3 and gave up. If you by chance get one that sits right make sure to keep it up high. Too fragile but they work. Would never buy for a kid due to so breakable

Worked as expected and was super entertaining.
Mine was packed securely. I even dropped it in the packaging on accident and it still didn't break. Worked as expected and was super entertaining.
