Zero Gaps perfectly if you don't apply too much pressure!!
**** I've been using this blade setter for awhile now and. A few important tips Ive learned. when sliding the the cutting blade into position DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH PRESSURE!!! You don't have to press hard just slide the cutting blade into position lightly to firmly. Also I've started sliding the blade into position with my two thumbs and holding it into position with one while tightening tension screws. I noticed that the blade would sometimes come out uneven or unparallel if I slid it into position with the bracket and locked it in. I use neither now and get a perfect blade every time. works very well once you set a few blades and get the hang of it. Highly recommend

It works exactly as advertised
Not sure why so many bad reviews, specifically for those who say it doesn't work or that it sets it too aggressively. This works exactly as advertised. If used properly, it aligns the cutter blade just a tiny hair before the non moving blade (so its not true a 100% 0 gap) to prevent excessive biting; even those who do it manually recommend this method since it reduces the danger of inadvertently cutting your client. There are instructions that come with the tool that instruct how to use it as well as videos on YouTube. It maybe a little tricky the first time, but once you've done it a couple of times, its easy.

Nice product compared to rich the barbers plastic one
The tool is pretty nice, the only downside is the moving parts are made of plastic and will likely break with a fall or long term use. Wish it was all made of metal like the stationary part of the mechanism.

DIY Barber Essential Tool
This tool will get your blades perfectly aligned every time. I can’t tell you how many times I have given my son and myself scars from having an improperly set blade. The instructional video is extremely helpful for better understands how to operate tool. I recommend viewing this first while hold the actual tool. Pros: Sturdy, Easy to use, works for all Andis blades. Cons: Paper instructions are a little confusing. View video for better instruction on how to use tool.

Nice invention, it works but I think it could be better
I HATE when I open new clippers and I have to reset the blades for a closer cut. It's always a trial and error process because the blades never cut as close as you want. I've watched countless YouTube videos on this and I came across this invention and thought "Hmmmm, this is smart". So I purchased it... I was excited when I got it.. Put it to use, which wasn't hard.. But I will say, it doesn't adjust as close as I would like. It "almost" zero gaps. But it's good enough for use. I like it, it's easy once you learn but I wish it could get a closer shave.

not a barber just a hobby
I will start by saying that I have read some of the other reveiws concerning this product and about how the plastic pieces seem as if they may break, it's good information, as if you do not watch the tutorial this could occur due to not knowing how much pressure to apply to get your blades in as I did (or did not). With that said the metal piece is strong and this tool works like a charm, I had been doing it manually but this works better and quicker by removing the guess work out of it and from what I understand they work on promate blades as well, glad I bought these as I really wanted to get my line ups closer

If you have a T-Outliner you need this
I don't give this 5 stars because it's cleverly designed or easy to use. It's fiddly, and *should* be unnecessary for new blades. But the fact is, using this gapper tool to adjust a 6 month old blade made more difference in cut quality than a brand new blade ever has. And since I bought a brand new blade at the same time, it was easy to verify that even the new blade was not set up to cut as close as it was after adjustment (just put the new blade in without loosening the adjustment screws, and you'll see the gap). Now that I understand better how the blades are supposed to be adjusted, I can also see that I have probably replaced blade sets in the past which were still sharp enough, but had slipped out of alignment. So even though I'd recommend this purely for cut quality, it will probably pay for itself by extending the life of blades beyond what you previously though possible.

Good for an amateur
I was looking for a way to maintain my beard trim in-between visits to the barber. I was introduced to zero-gapping the blade on my andis trimmer. I searched and found this product, and as soon as i received it, put it to use. After following the step-by-step instructions, I IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference in the sharpness of the blade. 110% satisfied.

Tolles Tool. Bin in total begeistert. Die Einstellung geht sehr schnell, unkompliziert und präzise von der Hand. Ist meine persönliche Kaufempfehlung. Ein absolutes muß, wenn man sich einen T-Outliner von Andis holt.

I have been zero-gapping blades by hand since before I even knew that's what it was called. While I got to be pretty good at that, I can't say enough how easy this Andis tool is to use to get a perfect result. After using this today while replacing the blade on my Outliner II I'm having a hard time understanding the bad reviews. Can you do this by hand and get a similar result? Absolutely - I've done it myself. Having said that, I still recommend this tool highly if you have any of the mentioned compatible clippers. The speed and ease of use is impressive!
