Airwise is based on advanced technology that goes beyond mechanical filtration methods like high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) and other methods like electrostatic filtration, ozone, ultraviolet light and ionizers. Airwise technology (photocatalysis plus WisePointeTM) oxidizes odors, fungi, mold and parasites, and toxic chemical gases. At the same time, it settles dust and other large particles out of the air and destroys microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. Airwise creates inductive warmth, drawing humidity into the purifier. So, why settle for stick (grid) units or noisy fan machines? Air that is not circulated through those units is never purified! Airwise needs no fan, so it's totally silent. And it has no grid or filter, so it requires no cleaning or filters replacement. All you do is replace the photocatalytic lamp module once a year (no tools required).

Useless against noxious fumes
I had high hopes for this unit, based on its advertising. However, it failed, as have every other air cleaner, in eliminating noxious fumes from disgusting meals, cigarette odors and other toxic substances smoked, cooked, or whatever, which residents of my housing complex consume, and which come thru my vent system, even though I have blocked the vents off. This unit, as far as I can tell, is a total waste of money. Had I purchased it though the manufacturer, I would have returned it a long time ago, but since I bought it through amazon, I think I have to cut my losses. It does NOT eliminate any odors, nor have any of the other air cleaners and purifiers I have run through in my 13 years here. NYC is a toxic waste dump, and I don't think any air cleaner will help with my situation, located in between two major highways and an airport, with drug dealers and cigarette smokers on the premises. It may work in a less urban area, but then, the air would likely be better and not require it. My kitchenette is 6' X8' so qualifies as way more than a "small room." It also has no window, so I had high hopes for this, but they have been dashed. My advice is save your money. I wish I could move,. but circumstances dictate otherwise.

Room smells like a spring rain---
We live on the water...I mean right ON the water....2' above sea level and have to contend with mold issues every summer.We've used the Large Room version of this thing for about 10 years and we love it.After putting it in a room that is musty and smelly, this leaves the room literally smelling like the earth after a spring shower.Before you ask....yes, we are dealing with the cause of the mold but, as I said, where we live.....in the South and on the water.....mold and mildew are something we all fight all the time especially after a hot, wet summer like this one.Anyway, I highly recommend this machine.
