I don't have to use mats often since I have the Cricut that can use the smart materials, but I started off only purchasing the super long mats thinking it would be better to have those and I would not need both. Honestly you don't need both, but if you don't want to hate your life while you are creating smaller designs I would just bite the fairly small bullet and get these. These make your life so much easier, and they are fairly inexpensive too. They are really easy to clean and hold up super well through cuts. I have not had any of mine show any wear or damage, even though they have been loved.

The Cricut 12x12 Standard Grip Cutting Mat is my go-to for most of my work with my Cricut Maker 3. I love that they come in 2-packs. The sale price that it usually has is worth it. The Cricut mat stickiness stays great for a good amount of time.

The backing on the vinyl I use this to cut on the vinyl cutter keeps tearing off on the sticky pad and it ruins stickers and after u cut and ur gonna peal ur off this sticky pad. Wouldn’t u know the problem is it works too well. I’ve tried to dull it with cloths but it’s still too sticky for only being the original tack

Good quality

I purchased these to use with a silhouette portrait (I cut them down the right hand side with big kitchen scissors to fit), and they’re much better quality than the Silhouette mats. They’re cheaper, and slightly thicker which makes them harder wearing. I use them with sticker paper and 300gsm cardboard, my machine takes them exactly as it does the Silhouette brand as long as I make sure they’re cut down enough with no problem at all. I get through quite a lot as I use my Silhouette Portrait almost daily, and these last twice as long so I definitely recommend them! They are very sticky when new, so I simply use a clean towel to destick them a little, which I was doing with the Silhouette mats anyway. At a better price, and lasting twice as long they’re a no brainer for me! I’ve purchased them a couple of times now due to heavy use, and will continue to do so.

Well, the standard mat, really not sure what else to comment. Maybe unless you're not a cricut user then you'll say it's useless right. 🤣
