Geospace Hand-Z-BAR Kids Downhill Ski Trainer to Learn/Teach Beginner Alpine Skiing

this worked really well. very happy with this ski helper!!!

Everytime we use this, on a windy day at the slopes it just gets blown away that we end up chasing it.On a none windy day, when my daughter accidentally drops it as we go down the slopes, this will just roll down the hill. We end up chasing it again.It's too light and too thick to grip so we stopped using it. This product definitely needs some improvement. If I knew then what I know now, the same concept, I asked my daughter to hold one of my ski poles and hold it in the same way as this product suggests, as we go down the slopes. Works much better. She never dropped the ski pole since it has a certain weight and easy to grip with just a thin metal rather than this weightless thick styrofoam product. This was a waste of my money.

I didn't really read the description, was expecting more than a piece of foam....

As a lifelong skier and snowboarder, I still remember my Dad teaching me to ski, when I was barely a toddler. He sparked a love of skiing in me that I hoped to pass on to my own children, starting with my oldest, my 3 year old daughter. With the Hand-Z-Bar, I have found a phenomenal "assistant" to help me teach my daughter proper skiing technique. The training the Bar provides is a huge improvement over the way my Dad taught me (no offense, Dad!), because instead of just trying to verbally explain the technique to my child, the Hand-Z-Bar PUTS her into the correct position the minute she holds it in front of her.When she is holding the Bar, she's automatically in the right posture to keep her center-of-gravity balanced. She is able to focus on having fun and gaining confidence, and even learning how to do turns, etc. And I feel like I'm giving her the best experience possible, especially knowing she won't have to endure nearly as many falls as she would without the Hand-Z-Bar. The LAST thing I want is to see her cry or filled with fear.I am very impressed with this product. The price is right, too. The instructions that come with it are helpful: They outline the basics of correct skier's stance/ body positioning and tell you what you need to know to be your child's first ski coach! And apparently the product is designed and recommended by ski school instructors.

I haven't tried it yet as the ski season is just beginning, but it is important to note something that slipped past me: it's pink! Fine for a girl, but I bought it for a six yr. old boy. It seems to me like a good tool, but color is definately wrong, and there doesn't seem to be a choice. I post this so that buyers will know.

I would not buy this again, as it is literally a round piece of foam, nothing else. It is priced just low enough so that returning it is not worth the return shipping price. Take a piece of foam from anything and use it. A roll from wrapping paper would essentially do the same job as this. Or, get a thin noodle of foam for swimming and use it. Really, a straight stick would do the same thing this piece of foam does. The pictures make it look like plastic - it isn't. It is foam.

This is a good product but it could be better. This is essentially a thinner "pool noodle" so your little skier can bend it quite easily. It would be better if there was a plastic core that kept it from bending so easily. I guess safety rules with this product as they want to make sure that nobody gets hurt with it.

Too lite weight for my 3 yr old. May work better for older child. Concept is good.
