My new favorite tool
I am on my second derby car, and decided this year to browse some accessories. The first year the most difficult part of building the car, for me, was inserting the axles. I couldn’t get them straight, the wood split, and I eventually had to staple, glue, and duct tape the bottom of the car back together Just so that it would race. This tool made hammering in the axles seamless, held the wood in place, did whatever magic it does to allow me to insert all four wheels within two minutes, effortlessly.I used a quick grip at first, but by the fourth wheel was just holding it in place with my thumb.I can’t speak to how well it helps with speed, but I am so glad I have this for the next few years of building. And as you can see from one of the pictures, you get a very balanced derby car.

Its good and so are the axles
Its good but the aluminum is soft and after using it for 1 car the metal gap protusion is worn down from the drill.

Didn't work really well.
I actually got this metal one because the cheaper plastic one was getting scarred by axles. This one was getting scarred as well.

Pricy but worked to get axles in strait.
With this clamped to the derby car it was easy to get the axels in strait! Kinda $$ though. Good thing we have one more year of Derby.

Didn’t work
We bought this to help drive the axles in the derby car straight. Sadly the metal didn’t keep the axle straight and the metal is too soft so the tool is ruined. $22 wasted.
