RoMech Mini Electric Cloth Cutter, Rotary Blade Fabric Cutting Machine, Octagonal Knife, Electric Rotary Scissors for Multi Layer Leather Wool (RM-031)

I'm not exactly using this for its designed purpose but it will chew threw cardboard and paper like nobody's business! This thing is absolutely amazing for cutting cardboard boxes down. Just be careful and watch your fingers because it's not exactly a product designed with user carelessness in mind. Seems to be quite durable with a good duty cycle. Not a light piece of equipment but that's exactly what I was looking for when I purchased it.

This cuts through fiber glass, Kevlar (aramid), and carbon fiber fabrics very easily and quickly. These can be difficult to cut, especially the Kevlar/aramid cloth, and the relatively loose weaves can be easily distorted by cutting problems. This fabric cutter very smoothly glides through these fabrics as the rotary blade cuts the fibers quickly and efficiently, greatly reducing the chance of distorting the weave pattern. The only issue so far is the lack of any safety or guard to prevent unintentionally triggering the rotary blade.

This unit appears to be manufactured in China, and sold under a variety of names, so I looked for the cheapest one. Happy with the quality, though mine arrived with some metal "burs" on the sole-plate that I had to file down to prevent friction/scratching when moving over a table. I've just begun using it, so cannot speak to its durability or longevity (I'll update if necessary).Some points:- Initially, I thought the weight would be an issue, but the weight is irrelevant, since you push it along with its sole-plate resting on the table surface!-The blade is quite exposed, so use with EXTREME CAUTION!-The on-off "button" is on the underside, and while convenient for use, makes if VERY easy to accidentally turn unit on if set down.-Always, ALWAYSSS unplug the unit when not in use because of the above-mentioned issue.-Make sure you get the foot under the bottom-most layer of fabric when cutting.-cuts curves fairly well above a certain radius.-Shop around for blades. I saw some listed her for $40, which is a JOKE!-I kid you not: watch your fingers!!!

I LOVE this! It cuts through multiple layers of fabric at once - over 1/2 an inch of fabric at a time! It used to take me all day to cut my fabrics, now it takes two hours! Bonus-it has an attached sharpener and sharpening the blade is as easy as pressing a button. Best investment ever!

I purchased this tool to cut up carpeting so I could put it in the trash can. It went through the indoor/outdoor carpet like butter. It was probably a onetime use tool for me. I am 81 years old it was a lifesaver as bending over and getting up and down is a choir in itself for me.

What a great little machine. I can now cut multiple layers of cloth and increase my output on coats, shirts and pants.Quiet and fast, easy to use, and I love the sharpening stone built in.Thank you very much.

I absolutely loved this cutter. It makes cutting multiple fabrics such a breeze! Very powerful for such a little machine. Set up was easy and it comes a extra parts and a extra blade.

UPDATE: while i still urge extreme caution with this dangerous tool i wanted to follow up several weeks later.we are abusing this thing well beyond anything i am sure it was designed for. and continue to overtax it with 7/8 in deep cuts all day long. i am shocked that it still works. hands down the best 85 dollars we have spent during the pandemic as far as tools go. but dear god please be careful with this thing.............original review: This thing is heaven and hell. 5 star awesome cutter 1 star dangerous. One of the most dangerous tools I have ever used. Folks that is saying something. We switched our shop over to PPE facility and all of our cutters etc were designed for other materials. I bought this to speed up our process as we try and meet demand. This thing cuts like an animal. We can cut 15 layers of PMBB and SMS material fast. Aside from lay out times we can pull 42 masks off the cutting table every 6 minutes. We pulled 2000 masks out of cutting yeaterday. IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCED WITH POWER TOOLS be careful. The trigger is a paddle style with no lock out. If you lay tool down it turns blade on. I had to modify tool for safety. We are cutting almost 7/8in thick and really pushing it to the limit while we explore other options. If you are not experienced with handling power tools be very careful. Also we wear cut gloves in our shop OSHA approved for safety. I have a large hand and with a cut glove I have a hard time wrapping my hand around this unit. My little asian army (best group of sewing girls on the planet) cannot use this. We use hot knives and electric shears normally. This thing had the potential to be awesome but i wont let them touch it. I am very protective of the girls they have been like family to me for years. If you buy this thing please be very careful. Also the review that said this was loud? For us this is the quietest power tool in the shop. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
