I ended up liking it more than I thought I would.
I am completely in love with this watch despite it looking like a plastic watch even though that is what it is. The countdown timer is what I use the most. I really enjoy it because it has the hourly time and it’s nice to have a countdown timer on your wrist rather than using one on your phone constantly. The multiple alarms are great too because you can set alarms for all your breaks at work as well as went to clock out and went to clock out for lunch and what not. It’s a charming $30 watch that you shouldn’t be afraid to bang up as well. It’s also really fun to look at!

Good Value
First this is a $40 watch. You're not getting a Swiss Timepiece. However, this is a great watch for the money. Its quirky to set but easy to figure out. I did not have to remove any links so I can't comment on how difficult that would be. The micro adjust pins were simple if you have the right tool. Overall I love the watch and would recommend it.

worth it
casio all the time! the 10yr battery really does work because this item was a replacement for my previous one. i prefer the metal strap as my last wasn't and had to keep changing.

Bought two
First, it has a perpetual calendar, including leap year. 10 year battery is totally functional. I bought two, one set to standard time and one to daylight, no need to screw with anything for awhile! Also keeps very accurate time, like all Casio watches.

Good value .. Many features .. Resizing the band is a pain
This my opinion of the Casio Analog-Digital watch Model AW80 (2747) with a metal band. It packs a lot of features and feels very solid. Other reviewers have pointed out that parts of the case are resin, such as where the band attaches to the watch body. Also, the crystal is plastic and can be easily scratched. I don't wear a watch everyday, so those points are not negatives for me.The complexity of the features requires studying the tiny included printed instruction manual. Fortunately, a quick online search will result in a manual in PDF format that is easier to read. The first thing to do is set the time and date. It's important to note that the analog hands and the digital display must be set separately. Changing one does not change the other. Follow the procedure in the manual. Once they are properly set, the time on both analog and digital sections will stay in sync. The watch band needed to be resized for me. It was too large for my wrist. Again, I had to go to the web and search for instructions on how to resize it which involves removing links. This band is a 'Folded Link' type. I found several videos online with instructions.I have attached pictures that show the clip that must be removed (Letter A) before a link can be taken out. Two clips must be removed to take out one link. Insert a small screw driver into the hole at the bottom of the link and push the clip in the direction of the arrows. The clips on my band did not come out easily. I had to first spread the link opening apart (very slightly) before the clip would come out. After that, I had to fiddle with the links to separate them. Each link will subtract about 3/8 inch from the band. There is a small adjustment area (Letter B) if the fit needs to be fine tuned. Reassemble the links and insert the clips. I used a rubber mallet to fit them back in.At one point in this whole process I had to exert so much force that I thought I would surely bend or break something. It didn't and it ended up to be the proper size for me. Again, look online for complete instructions. This watch suits me and has more features than I will regularly use. It's a low cost watch that doesn't look low cost.

The lousy black light was almost a deal-breaker
This watch actually has impressive functionality, with three alarms, 30 city world time which is set completely separately to local time, normal stopwatch and also a countdown timer which unfortunately does not include seconds only minutes so you can't watch it actually counting down! I don't particularly like that but it's not as annoying as the almost useless backlight. I'm creeping through my 50s now and I do have vision issues with reading and stuff like that, plus weird light contrasts do not help the issue at all and hinder me further. Some people may not have quite the issue that I have with it but several other people have made comments on here about it. I've taken a shower with it several times and had absolutely no issues with water resistance although I still have yet to go swimming with it. Bear in mind that this watch very likely would have gotten a four if not for the backlight issue. Using the buttons and sequence and flipping through the menus can be a little bit tedious and there's a learning curve to it but it's really not that bad. After sitting down with it for half an hour or so I was able to use most functions without reading the manual further. One thing I really like about it is it has a memo function where you can save names and telephone numbers although it's not useful for saving passwords because it doesn't use special characters only letters and numbers from what I understand. I'm sure I'll eventually be using the memo function for something. One thing I was thinking it could be useful for is using your stopwatch multiple times in a certain scenario and then recording the results in your watch and then later writing down the recorded times to create averages at home with a calculator. I'm kind of annoyed about the backlight but I'm not going to send this otherwise very decent, light little watch back. I'm trying to be on the optimistic side that maybe I will eventually be able to work better with the backlight another thing about that is it only stays on for barely two seconds! And it's also not that glowing blue screen that you get with most Casio watches it seems like it has an LED bulb on either side of the watch that kind of illuminate things in a much more conventional way. The light is brightest on the sides and not in the middle where it needs to be. Your miles may vary with that, but that's just my experience. To be fair I put this watch somewhere between 3 and a 4, and if not for the backlight it would definitely have got a 4.
