AMOS 麻雀牌 アモス マックス カラー(牌の背):イエロー

I really wanted a Riichi set and the options for getting them outside of Asia, especially Japan, are limited. I went ahead and got the AMOS MAX because it was highly recommended by other fans online and I'm glad I did. The set is great, the coloring good (though I wish the Green they utilized didn't almost look black) and the have a nice weight to them. They dont have numerals in the top because its a Japanese set and though it makes it a bit tougher to teach I prefer the aesthetic that way. Also having the scoring sticks as well as decently made dice is a nice bonus.The plastic trays they were in did come slightly cracked at the corners and I had to tape them over but since then they've held up alright. The case isn't anything to write home about, its cardboard nicely wrapped but its still a folding cardboard case trying to hold heavy tiles so I slide the carrying case back into the proper cardboard box that the set came in when we're done playing before it goes back on my shelf. Unless you're flying to Japan and want to pick up a set locally this is about as fair a price as you'll get with shipping something this heavy. Great for Riichi fans who want a nice set that will last forever but not the cheapest set so know what you're getting into but I found it worth it.

Am a beginner to a mahjong and wanted a nice set of tiles to play with (and a good mat - bought a Junk Mat and like it a lot). The Amos Max tiles have a nice feel, stand on their own so you do not need any racks for tiles and are a nice size. Easy to see the markings without the tiles being too overly large. Set seems to be well made and I expect the the tiles to last a long time. As others mentioned the Green Dragon is black (wish it was green) but that is my only issue with the set. The outer black case feels like it may not last long given the weight of the set. But the important part for storage, the trays that you store the tiles in, are made of nice, sturdy, thick plastic. The tile trays feel like they will last a long time, many years. All the tile and trays arrived 100% perfect. Very happy with order, fast shipping, and safe arrival of the set.

Amos Max is a great Japanese mahjong set. The larger tiles are a plus for those who dislike the small tiles in most riichi mahjong sets. The tiles are of high quality and have a good heft and size to them. The other plastic bits, such as the tembo and the dice are nice quality too. It's nice getting a set where the dice aren't misshapen or still have some flashing left over from the molding process.Some caveats for those interested. There's no green paint on bamboo or hatsu (green dragon). Anything that is green in a Chinese or American set is black in this set. There's only 4 season tiles, no flower tiles. Both these points are expected in most newer Japanese sets. Just don't plan on playing any mahjong variant that requires flower/season tiles with this set.If you're looking for a dedicated riichi set, this is the one to get.

Tiles are great.Larger and more comfortable than YMI or similar type entry level set.Green tiles like the bamboos are hatsu are very dark.Weight and size are good.

Fantastic quality set. Bought this about a year ago after two chinese sets I bought had faulty unstable tiles that would crack on their own. My only complaint is that the green dragon and bamboo tiles arent actually green.

今までは古いタイプの小さい麻雀牌を使っていたのですが、両親が老眼で牌が見えづらくなった為に大きめの牌に買い換えました。大きさといい重厚感といいとても満足しています。個人的にダイヤの埋め込まれたウーピンが嫌いだったので、そうじゃない所も好ましいです。500点棒がない所だけが残念ですが、他が全て満足なため星5を付けました。

サイズや､重量は覚悟して購入したがやはり個人的には重いかな?行きつけのフリー卓の配に慣れているせいか、ちょっと違和感を感じます｡しかし、AMOSさんの配は字面が一番好きです｡字配、イーピン、マンズともに？な配がないのが良い。中国産などの安い配はどうしようもない見た目だったりするので｡大きい？鉄心入り？からか、湿度が高いときは張り付いてゲームではなくなりますね｡イエロー（キャラメル）以外に他色があればなお良いんだけどなぁ｡
