Very slow, graphics were ok, but hard to play.

Just awful and not 3D
Do not buy this.Pros. It's not expensive.Cons. Despite the big announcements from the publisher, it's not a 3D game. But even if it had 3D (they might release a 3D version in summer), it's a completely horrible game. The graphics are ugly. The controls are too difficult and complicated for a casual Wii gamer, and the game's too boring and not good enough to warrant any interest by a dedicated gamer. The initial reviews on the web are correct. They call it "shovelware". That's an appropriate name.

Worst Wii Game Ever!
If you're familiar with video gaming lingo, you may have heard of the word "shovelware" which essentially means that the item in question is of very substandard quality and essentially useless and unfit for playing. Battle Rage fits that description completely. The game starts out promisingly enough with a nicely rendered montage of pictures and scrolling text (which goes by a bit too fast) setting the background for the game. However, once the montage is ends, the fun does too. The concept is interesting, a mech combat game, and it is sure to generate a lot of interest from people, however the designers and coders fall far short in getting this game to produce results. First, you get a mech and "customize" it. Essentially you are given Armor, Weapons, Movement, and a Shield and have four more points to allot (they start out with one point apiece already) between them (Ratings are 1, 2, or 3). So you can make your mech fast, or powerful, or sturdy. Thats fine. But then you have to fight, and everything falls apart. The controls are sluggish, the frame rate gets all choppy, and you can't see below your waist! In a game that features drop-offs (and instant death) throughout the maps, not being able to see things immediately in front of you is ridiculous! You can't even force your mech to look downward enough to catch a glimpse. Ammo is in short supply so ranged weapons are difficult to use, and the computer is much more capable at hand to hand combat than you'll ever be. The controls are sluggish, and the Wiimote responses for hand to hand combat are not accurate, which makes hand to hand something you'll want to avoid, but will not be able to. Overall, this makes the entire gaming experience frustrating and futile. The game is rotten, steer clear of it. If you really want to buy a Mech Combat game for the Wii buy the WiiWare title "Overturn". Overturn has received excellent reviews, can be had for cheaper than Battle Rage, and has online play which is a feature Battle Rage is also sadly (and strangely) lacking.

Low budget, basic gameplay for advanced Wii gamers only!
I would suggest only picking this game up if 1. you see it in the clearence section cheaper[...]. 2. I would only advice someone who is good with controling the nunchucks & Wii remote at the same time. 3. If you do not have a large tv just pass. Even on a 55in tv and adjusting the camera view in the game I barely found good angles to fight during battle. Minor editing & upgrades are allowed But if you're a mech junkie and can deal with stale graphics with a tad of adjusting to controls ( why suggested for advance gamers) and find it for the dirt it may be a decent pass time till something better comes along. They just don't really cut my crave for mech bashing.

Unfinished ... but good idea
I really like the concept of this game, Mechwarrior like action on the Wii, but it just wasn't pulled off very well. The game feels unfinished almost like an Independent game and I'm kind of surprised it made it as a commercial product.Best of luck to the Game Dev's with the upcoming Battle Rage 2 it looks alot better. The game is somewhat fun..

Mech game not so great.
Did not like confined battle areas. Other mech games let you roam around larger battle areas. Graphics only so...so...Plus very silly/lame story between fights.
