Not the same color as pictured. Works great, though.
This is a review of the Allstar Wide Jaw Tire Bead Breaker. The item pictured in the description was a zinc chromate color, but the item I received in painted gloss black. I would have preferred the ZnCrO4 coating as the black paint was worn off in spots even before I opened the package and after using it on four tires, the paint is even worse off. I don’t think it will affect the usability of the item, but it doesn’t look as good as the item I thought I was buying. I wonder whether the worn paint will lead to rust problems in the future. Anyway, on to the performance review:It works like a champ. I used it to break the beads on four light truck mud tires and it could not have been easier. I had read the reviews that said the hook that picks up the opposite side of the wheel was easy to bend, but mine showed no signs of bending or even that the part was being overly stressed. I have no doubt that the hook is strong enough for any tires I will be working on.I wish this item was more compact. I can’t see any reason for the three main parts to spread out so much when it’s collapsed to its smallest size. You’d think they could engineer the levers to attach in such a way that they would all collapse into a much more compact size for carrying in a truck or Jeep when off-roaring. In fact, my brother owns a similar item that he paid a lot more money for (it expands for use up to 19” wheels) and his DOES collapse into a very tight unit. Fits under the seat of his truck very nicely. This one: not so much.If you want a bead breaker that makes quick work of a pain-in-the-butt job, this is hard to beat.

So easy
Made removing bad tires from my quad super easy. I tried other tire removers and they couldn't even break the bead. Took 10 minutes to redo 2 tires when the last time took an hour with the competition.

Great customer service
I own one of these already and after my friend borrowed it he asked me to order one for him. We had a problem with shipping that appeared to be an issue with the shipping company not the supplier. When I contacted the seller they made sure to help me get things straightened out ASAP. I use mine quite often as we are always changing and fixing tires for our rail buggies. I have not found any better way to pop the bead my large offroad tires. The first one I bought we did bend the hook on but it was our fault as after we tried to use it on a jeep tire After bending it we read the rim size and found out we attempted to remove a 16 inch tire with a tool designed for a 15 inch rim. I bought a replacement right away and it works every time and is always part of my tool kit when I go riding.

Decaps 33s easily, Great trailside repair additon
Easily decaps 33s with just pressure in two spots 6inchs apart. I hoped it would do it in one but dont quite enough throw on the bead actuating hook. Easy to use attach the holding hook in opposite rim edge and slide rim edge hook between bead and rim with prying lever and hold rim hook lever tight and press down on bead pressure jaw lever and if its hard easily lean into it. standard jaw is plenty wide for a radial tire and no worry of sidewall damage if you lube the beads, i think the wide jaw would be better for bias plys still think they would take 2 different pressure spots to break bead. Strong steel i didnt baby it at all, handle tubing is strong didnt feel any give could be modified for smaller or larger rims with just some 5/16 flat plate and 4 holes and 4 bolts. Great product!

hex head bolts would have been a better design choice
Works well! Only problem I had was the allen head screws to adjust the wheel size were so tight I ruined my allen wrench. Finally took the screws out using a punch on the side of the head (old trick for getting damaged bolts out). Since many people would need to adjust the size, hex head bolts would have been a better design choice..Threads were standard 1/4-20, so a couple of short bolts from my bolt bucket, and I was ready to dismount a 13 inch tire. Took a little experimenting, but I had the bead down in about 5 minutes. In all, I am pleased with this tool, and will get a lot of use out of it!

It works best to lubricate around the seam to make the rubber ...
This tool got to my house amazingly fast. I am not an expert with this thing, but with the proper leverage I can break the beads on my racing tires. It works best to lubricate around the seam to make the rubber more flexible. Some use dish soap and water. I use foaming glass cleaner. Buy a pair of spoons to help get the tire off the rim and you will not be disappointed.

Great cost effective tool!
Fantastic product. I have even used it on 17 inch tires with success (you just cant use the swinging anchor bar). I cost effective product to do DIY tire changes. Note that it does require a steady hand and lots of force at times as you would expect.
