but 10 years back when I bought my Prius, they were probably too expensive for the manufacturer to use since the ones I had were incandescent. I like the extra brightness and the whiteness of the light. Used them for parking lights, door side lights and dome lights in the car. They fit fine and match the socket.Only downside is that the connections are just a wire laying flat on the glass (plastic?) base so for two of them, I had to make sure the wires were straight as they wanted to bend out of the way when putting them in the socket. I held the wire edge while pushing them in but once there, they stayed as the socket metal connector held them in place.

Brightens up the license plate. Both my bulbs on my older car had burned out over the tag. Wow! these are nice! Worth it for $1 each

I used these to replace the old incandescent lights in the foot wells, back seat reading lights, trunk light and license plate lights. They are much brighter than the incandescent lights and will hopefully last a long time.
