The $40 extra I paid for the usual cost of ventilated umbrellas is WORTH it!!! GUSTBUSTERS actually works! Other $20 ventilated umbrellas have two layers BUT inverts and fails in air flow due to cheap design that is a gimmick. GUSTBUSTERS is NOT a gimmick!!!

Umbrella broke within it's warranty period. Had to pay $10 plus shipping cost which was roughly another $10 to ship the umbrella to NY for them to get it fixed. Could of bought another umbrella from another brand for that price

I live in NYC and when the weatherman calls for rain, you never know when it's going to come, so one must carry ones' umbrella everywhere! I was looking for an umbrella that was not too heavy, small enough to carry in my bag, yet wide enough to cover me as the smaller umbrellas don't keep one very dry; finally, easy to open and close. This is an expensive umbrella and I think it's mostly for the mechanism. It easily opens and closes with one hand. However you have to push it with your hand to fully close it before opening it again. You can't open it without pushing it closed. It's sturdy, light weight and holds up in the obnoxious windy rain. The canopy was not as wide as I thought. Maybe I misread the size listed. Compared to most, it's a great umbrella but not all I'd hoped for and rather pricey.
