The recommended feeding is: For average 1000 lb adult horse mix 1 to 2 scoops with daily grain ration for 1 full week (7 days) out of every month

Can’t say which is better but my horses do very well with this product. They like the taste and always clean it up.

Q: does this product contain actual apple and molasses? my horse has IR and does not tolerate sugar.

I don't know. The product facts state it contains psyllium husk as the active ingredient and artificial flavors, mineral oil, natural flavors and propionic acid as inactive ingredients. The manufacturer alone knows what the natural flavors are. You can call Farman to inquire at 800-234-2269. Or, ask you equine veterinarian to recommend or prescribe the appropriate product for your horse.
