Depends on how you hold the hook
I’ve been wanting to try one of these, but now I realize they are not for me. As you see by the first photo, I learned to crochet from my mom holding the hook as you see here. It would be fine if you held the hook like in the second picture, which is one way to crochet. Since I did not learn that way 40+ years ago, this thick handle is difficult for me to use. I plan to gift it to someone who holds their hook like in the 2nd picture.

Love this hook!
I cannot say enough good things about this hook... I have furls hooks and this compares to the expensive $60.00 ones. This is one of my favorite hooks. Loved it so much I ordered 3 more in diferente sizes!

Nice hook but it's no Furls
I tried this as reviews compared it to be equal to a Furls hook...not finding that to be completely true. The hook really has no point, so this slows my crocheting down. I'm finding the extra $6-10 for a Furls to be worth it. If you are looking for a superlight, ergonomic hook for occasional crocheting on a budget this may be a good choice for you. If you are an avid crocheter you might want to opt for the Furls.

Wanted to like it, BUT!
I love the way this hook feels in my hands. It's smooth, comfortable, & decreases the strain on my hand & arm. I only gave it the stars however, because it doesn't move smoothly through the yarn, but gets stuck easily. It makes my movements jerky since I have to pause to force it through the yarn, & each stitch. The hook part doesn't show any signs of burrs or splits, but no matter what type or thickness of yarn I try, it's simply not smooth feeling, & gets hung up with each stitch. I really wanted to like it, especially after holding it & seeing it. It's a beautiful color & has a great feel, however, as any crocheter knows, it's all in the smooth rhythm, & soothing movement through the yarn, & it's just not there & doesn't happen with this book, no matter how hard I try.

Oh My...
Really disappoint because it was so pretty when it arrived. The size wore off within the first 8hrs and stain wore off at my thumb within this first 48. I’m a slow crocheter.Like I said too bad because it’s comfortable and light in my hand like I need.

Not what I expected.
I returned these. I was so disappointed. They look like Furls hooks so I was excited expecting quality based on the photo, years in business, etc. I ordered a whole set. I wasn't expecting the other guy. I wanted these. Purple wood too???? Really looking forward to this. It was not to be.They had a great handle design but the wood was not smooth. There were streaks in the handle and hook itself that made the crochet experience unfriendly. The hooks didn't glide with the yarn and it wasn't comfortable. And I didn't like how rounded the tip of the hook was. Also affected the glide with the yarn. I would have to stop and work the tip into the stitch because of the lack if flow.Very disappointed. I wanted these.

Surpassed my expectations
Before I dropped a ton of money on some Furls hooks I decided to try something similar in shape, style, and material that was more affordable. I immediately noticed a difference, and it has helped me correct my hold without even making a conscious effort. I noticed i was holding it more like a pencil than a knife, and it has increased my speed. i'm currently crocheting a scarf with bean stitches, which requires 4 passes into the same loop and the longer post has made that much easier. I just got this hook yesterday, so I will edit my review if anything negative comes up in the next few months.

Situational, but perfect for those times
I got this wooden hook because i had some slippery yarn and wanted a hook with a little more texture, and this turned out to be the perfect choice. The wood is smooth to the touch and doesn't snag (not the yarns I've used with it at least), but it's still a little grippy, so the yarn didn't slide right off.I got the 3.5mm size because i use that most, but i also make lots of amigurumi, and i wouldn't use this hook for that. In fact, i wanted an ergonomic hook because my grip can be TOO tight sometimes, and this was a great hook for me to train myself to relax my hold. The shape of the handle encourages a relaxed grip, so i prefer another hook for tight stitches. The stitches from this hook are noticeably looser than with the same size from other brands. I made several scarves and many washcloths to get used to this hook, and i loved it more and more as i went along. At first i thought fast crocheting would be harder because there's no flat place for my thumb, but the hook's name and size are engraved right where my thumb goes, so i can find the correct orientation of the hook quickly and without looking. The hooked part of this hook is both deep and sharp, so if your yarn splits easily then this might go right through it if you're not careful. Then again, keeping 6 or more loops on the hook, for something like star stitch or bead stitch, and pulling through all loops at once, was a breeze. Picking up one loop only, for something like star stitch or invisible decrease, was also a cinch.

Not smooth to crochet with
It's esthetically pleasing to look at. It reminds me of Harry Potter wands. Functionality was not there for me. I bought it intended on using it for a blanket yarn sweater pattern that needed a size 7mm & 8mm for different parts of the sweater. I thought it would glide off the yarn smoothly because it was smooth and no splinters, but it was tough to pull the yarn through just to make a foundation chain. Perhaps I'm just used to crocheting with Clover hooks, which I will be getting those a d returning these two hooks from Divit.Tried with Bernat blanket yarn, it was tough to pull the yarn through, same with 100% cotton yarn. Acrylic seems okay and glides alright. I need hooks that works well with all yarn, not just some.

Divit Shilp Crochet Hooks
I bought one of these crochet hooks a few months ago and instantly fell in love with them. They are nice to work with. I never liked ergonomic crochet hooks before, but these are different and my hand seemed to relax instantly while working with them. I have now purchased 5 different sizes and plan on getting a whole set eventually.

Nice and smooth.
This hook is nice and smooth, light and easy to use. The yarn squeaks a little with this hook. I found mine to be more like a 4.5mm than the 4mm I ordered as my swatches worked up slightly larger than ones made with comparable 4mm hooks. Overall it felt nice in the hand and I will use it for future projects that call for a 4.5 or 5mm hook.

Overall a good hook!
It's a little grippy, but not terrible. Good overall. It's light and easy to hold. Is it better then Furls?... Well no, but I would buy another without hesitation. I bought the 7mm and plan to buy a couple more in different sizes.

Ok but not great
This crochet hook is ok but it has problems such as no thumb rest(or whatever it’s called) . The size info will wear off easily with usage and for the price I was expecting better quality.
