Perfect and high quality, great sound improvement.
I installed this on my 1900s german violin, not a cheap student instrument but a copy of a Jean Baptiste Vuillaume. The sound improvement was tremendous. More clarity but still has that old woody sound. Can't believe how much improvement it made. Easy to install, 30 minutes or less. would definetly buy again!

Very convenient tuning.

These are fine.
Used to be cheaper. My opinion is this dulls the sound slightly compared to the old Wittner aluminum version, but they have priced the metal one to the moon lately, so I guess it depends on how much you want to spend.

This is really easy to use.
My daughter just got a new violin and needed fine tuners. Instead of buying four separate screws, I decided to get this, and it turned out to be much easier to use. Itโs way more convenient and works greatโwe really like it.

I didn't know what to expect
We were given an old violin by a family friend. My daughter has a nicer violin, but I want her to have a less expensive one to take to school, camps, etc... After taking the donated instrument to a luthier, I was told it is a intermediate-level violin and needed a couple hundred dollars to get it in playable condition. Instead, I decided to restore it myself because I am fascinated by the complexity of the work that goes into an instrument. After some minor woodwork to repair unglued seams (do a lot of research before you attempt, it's all really cool!), I am now upgrading the fittings. Wittner parts are highly regarded, so I am using them when I can. This tailpiece allowed me to add fine tuners and adjust the after-length of the strings. The tailgut is easy to adjust, so I was able to start with 55mm of after-length and make incremental adjustments until I found the best length for the instrument. My luthier recommended the built-in style of fine tuner because it is stable, light and does not impact the sound.

Four Stars
Pretty good. Much better than using individual fine tuners.

Tuning Ease, Convenience and Sound
Aware that each violin is unique in its construction and sound and what works for your hearing and instrument may not work for me. Having said that, for the price and ease of installment my decision to change out my ebony tailpiece with one fine tuner for this Wittner with four fine tuners resulted in a better return than I had hoped for.My goal was to speed up the tuning process before and during playing. I have a great sounding violin, my only worry was that I might sacrifice great tone for tuning ease. Instead I obtained tuning ease and significantly better tone, more open, more resonant. Prettier. And to think that I was considering installing mechanical pegs.

Lightweight and easy to use
I replaced the original tailpiece from my Yamaha SV200 with this one so I could tune up quicker during shows. It's a lot lighter than adding fine tuners to the original piece and the fine tuning knobs move smoothly. I bought another to replace a tailpiece for my student because her fine tuners are incredibly difficult to turn. It was easy to install and there's very little difference in sound and weight. The wire, however, was very strong and I did have to coax it into place a little. I would recommend adding some instructions or a warning to acoustic players not to bump the violin while changing the tailpiece because it could move the sound post.Otherwise I love it.

Quality Built
Have used this brand of tailpiece on several violins. The built-in integrated fine tuners work smoothly and are dependable. Half the weight of a ebony tailpiece with "add-on tuners". Great value for the money.
