I've used 64 GB memory sticks and SD cards and had no problems. The converter uses about 2GB for 1 hour of recording time so you don't need a great deal of storage space.

Q: Can u save multiple dvd's to one high capacity flash drive?

Yes. Each time you stop and start a recording session, (i.e., pressing the red REC/STOP button), you are creating a separate file on the flash drive.
