My wife had a hearing aid attachment that helped her hear the TV better. I got a Bose speaker for Christmas. They both needed to be attached to the audio aoptical input. My TV has ONE input. This little device solved the problem neatly and everyting works perfectly. If you have two pieces of equipment that need an audio optical input. Get this one...works ...easy to use...and it is not expensive.

I have a sound bar with an optical INBut with an old tv without any out , so I used the optical OUT of my playstation and plug it in my sound barProblem is that I have another small network media tank , so I had to switch cable from my PS to the NMT.This device solved my problem I plugged the PS and my NMT in the adapter and the adapter in the SoundbarIt's a splitter , so only 1 device will work at a time.

This works really well! The only issue I had was because I didn't read the manual of one of my products. I split this so I can use my Samsung soundbar and Sennheiser RS 175's. I had to change the Optical Out signal to PCM instead of Bistream and everything worked after that :)

i was looking for an optical splitter to use on the back of my TV and purchased this one based on the price and reviews. I recently purchased a pair of Sennheiser headphones and wanted to use the optical setup the Sennheiser recommended for optimal sound. I already had my soundbar hooked up to the optical output on the TV so a splitter was the way to go so I could keep both devices connected at all times. It works perfectly and both the soundbar and headphones function and sound as they should. There are a lot of choices out there and I highly recommend this particular model based on my positive experience with it. It does exactly what it's supposed to do.

I had a problem getting it to work in the beginning, but was able to work around the issue.
