Evening of Primrose Gold 1300mg. is the only thing that makes me feel normal. I had my uterus removed many years ago for a fibroid which is unforgivable and the @#$%^&&* removed my cervix too. The call it "the unkindest cut" in surgery. Using Primrose Gold is the only thing that helps me absorb male and female hormones from my adrenals and I don't feel exhausted. Sometimes they call it chronic fatigue, lyme and God know what else but if you had your cervix removed and you are exhausted, that may be your problem. Even if they were kind enough to leave your cervix Primrose will soften it and allow you to absorb your hormones. A good doctor told me this many years ago after the @#$%^&* had already removed my cervix. Some women still need HRT along with the Primrose and of course they need HRT if they had their ovaries removed too. The Primrose helps to absorb the HRT better. Years ago most women lost their cervix along with their uterus as I said "the unkindest cut".. The good doctor told me they used to castrate men if they had a prostate problem or gonad atrophy instead of giving them testosterone during the 70's and 80's and he called it the "castration years". We had the cervix removed automatically forever and they just stopped doing that recently. Some still do it and unless you have cancer do not let anyone remove your cervix. Please get 10 opinions and make sure some of those surgeons are women. Some women are scheduled for surgery and start taking Primrose and they get well unless it is cancer. A nurse told me to always get 10 opinions. She said she would get 20 opinions before she had breast or anything else removed. Please google and do the research on Primrose and the cervix. Do not take my word or anyone's word for anything concerning your health. google it and learn for yourself. I have tried many brands of Primrose and I believe Natures Way is the very, best for me and I like the Gold. Natures Way Primrose is different as it is picked and processed by hand and the oil is squeezed out and not taken out with some disgusting chemical. I believe it is the only one that has worked for me for about 34 years.I feel I am part of the "unkindest cut" generation and like the "castration years" you can't "un-ring a bell" . My father -in-law was part of the castration generation but I didn't know way back then that he needed testosterone or that Primrose helped men too because I did not know he was castrated until after he died. He was always sick and then I understood the reason. If only I had known I could have told him. If I don't take this product I feel like my whole body is dying. The curl comes out of my hair, my nails break, I am exhausted, cranky, catch every virus and cold that comes near me and the list goes on and on. This is a wonderful product, this help me balance out my hormones, with my pms and skin, this is the only one that works for me. To top it off My Skin Glows with this. I tried a few other brands but nothing can compare to this one, they just don't work like this one.

I'm currently on 20mg of Prozac per day. 2 weeks ago I started taking EPO (2 pills a day, the recommended dose). About 3 days after starting, I began to get really weird feelings in my body. For starters, I began to get incredibly moody, like the smallest things were making me freak out. It was as if I was PMS'ing something CRAZY! I also began having very intense rolling back pain. It would start from the back of my head to my tailbone and felt like an electric shock. My muscles were so tight and painful in the morning and throughout the day. I began to get diarrhea and by the weekend I was having restless sleep. I couldn't get to sleep at all, was waking up 3 or 4 times during the evening, and having very weird visuals when I'd close my eyes and try to go back to sleep. I didn't really put all the pieces together until a few days ago, when I did some deeper research on EPO and drug combinations....and realized I had given myself Serotonin Syndrome. I am BEGGING YOU....if you are currently taking an SSRI, PLEASE do not combine it with EPO. The side effects were extremely scary and I'm only just starting to feel slightly better. The brain fog is beginning to lift and today is the first day I am not about to fall asleep at my desk. Why am I giving this product 4 stars you ask? Because it worked. I'm really really sad to have to stop taking it. I have had terrible acne and eczema all my life. I've done antibiotics, Accutane, steroids, gluten free diets, vegan diets, skin peels, weekly facials, you name it! In the 10 days I was on this, it cleared up my hormonal acne. I always break out terribly right before my period. Well, I just started my period and my skin is the smoothest it's been since I was on antibiotics last time. So that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. I think if you can take this product, you absolutely should. But again, I repeat, if you're on an SSRI....PLEASE SKIP THE PILL AND ONLY APPLY EPO TOPICALLY! I've learned my lesson about going the purely homeopathic route. Even if something is a plant or a vegetable, it can still have an adverse effect on your body. We seem to forget this when using natural products. I'm really hoping I feel 100% again soon. This was actually such a traumatic experience, that it's led me to write my first Amazon review. I just started taking these a couple days ago, after receiving (which they came quite fast!) and I after waking this morning, I felt really dizzy. Don't know if this is from the pill or what but I felt totally fine the day before. Maybe I took it on an empty stomach and my stomach couldn't handle it...? Also, maybe I need to just take one a day. Who knows?! But I'm going to keep trying it in hopes it works on my hormonal acne.

I began using Primrose Oil several years ago at the suggestion of a friend from England (apparently it's a staple for women in Europe once they hit puberty). I started with Solaray at my local health food store and noticed a real improvement each month (still had PMS, but not as severe). I would up the dosage a bit when my symptoms would start and could really keep it under a manageable control without having to use too much of a pain killer. But the store quit carrying Solaray and began only carrying Barlean's (which is a good quality brand). I purchased the Barlean's and could notice a distinct difference within a few days (some of my more painful PMS symptoms suddenly re-appeared, especially breast tenderness - I had to sleep on my back four days out of every month!). So I started buying Solaray on Amazon and things got back to normal (still tender, but not so bad that it affected how I slept). I ran out two months ago and purchased this EfaGold brand because it was Amazon Prime and I knew I could get it quickly (I buy their Organic Coconut Oil and love it, so it was worth a shot). Because of my past experience with a different brand of Primrose (apparently they're not all created equal) I was concerned but I needed it fast, so I gambled. I am so glad I did! This is the best brand I have ever tried, by far. I used it for six weeks and not only did it work as good as Solaray, it actually worked better! I took three pills a day until my symptoms started, then I took four pills a day and they almost completely disappeared (which is not what I expected at all; I would have settled for "less bad")! I am so happy with this stuff and it's actually cheaper than the Solaray (plus, you can't go wrong with Amazon Prime). I know that supplements are very person-specific. Some people swear by some supplements that do nothing for me and other people think supplements that I love are worthless. But if you're a woman (whether you've hit menopause or not), I highly recommend at least trying Primrose Oil for a month and see if you can't tell a difference in your symptoms (PMS; pre-menopause; menopause) or in your skin, hair, nails and/or complexion. And I now highly, highly recommend this brand to start, because if you're going to get results, it will likely be with the EfaGold.
