Esteem + Drainable Pouch w/"visClose, 12' Transparent, 4" (100mm)

I'll keep this short and sweet (EDIT: Yeah, right!). I have a partial colectomy due to complication from Crohn's Disease and had this surgery performed back in November of 2014. I still have many complications that I suffer from on a daily basis, such as multiple fistulas around the ostomy site, a possible abscess in the same area (does not pose a threat or fill up because the multiple fistulas allow the infection and puss to drain out into the ostomy bag), and also very inflamed sections of skin around the ostomy site due to repeated stool exposure. Due to these complications, it can be VERY difficult to get two piece, let alone one piece, ostomy bags to stick reliably or even at all. I've had large 2 piece wafer and bag, along with barrier rings and paste, fall off within 5 minutes of application. These Convatec bags, specifically "416908", are the ONLY bags that I even have success with regularly. The sad part is that, due to my many complications, I measure Ostomy bag placement "success" as "anything that can stick for more than 24 hours without falling off entirely".These bags are fairly inexpensive compared to most 2x piece systems as well as adding in skin barriers, paste, adhesive removers, AND ostomy powders. Because of this, I don't have to decide on whether I need to put money aside for several expensive ostomy supplies that are NOT reliable or put quality groceries in my fridge or freezer or considering if I need to put off a bill payment for the following month. The adhesive on these bags, as well as the large size of the bag itself, allows me to sleep comfortably on most nights and my anxiety when waking up in the middle of the night is now rare. The large size of the bag also allows me to not have to empty the bag nearly as often AND also allows me to not have to empty my bag many, MANY times in the middle of the night. Middle of the night trips to the restroom have been cut down to either once a night or none, and it is very difficult to explain the peace of mind that comes with something like that.Bottom line, these bags, while not perfect, are an exceptional product. If my health insurance would somehow cover the monthly cost of 1 or 2 boxes, my Ostomy and Crohn's Disease burden would be significantly reduced to the point where my anxiety and constant worry about leaks would almost become a thing of the past. I highly recommend these ostomy bags (Convatec 416908)!
