Some one recently wrote a review that said this opener solved the same problem I was having--my old Pampered Chef opener quit opening (well, after maybe 5-6 times around the can and gripping really hard). i tried another well reviewed brand and it opened the can just fine but the edges were sharper than if I'd just used the pull tab.THIS OPEN IS PERFECT. EASY TO USE (DON'T HAVE TO SQUEEZE TO HOLD IT ON THE CAN). LID POPS OFF. NO SHARP EDGES. Everything washes nicely for recyling. Woohoo! Something that really works GREAT!

Love this can opener! No mess, no sharp edges, works so easily too. No more turning the crank on the old type can opener to only hurt your hand and wrist in the difficult process! It is effortless and I highly recommend this can opener. I own one for my home and one for my winter home. Wouldn’t use any other can opener. Worth the price.

Good product on all counts ,leaves no sharp edges and easy to use,saving some of my cans for future uses that i couldn,t do with other can openers!

I prefer can openers that cut the lid off leaving no sharp edges. The ones available to buy in the grocery stores and Walmart were getting cheaper by the year and wearing out with only a year's use. This turned up in one of my searches so I just bought it. Once I got it, I realized it is a multi-tool. Not only does it make usable lids for cans without sharp edges, it also opens cans with the pop lid, and helps lift off stubborn lids that fit very tight. I have already bought 5 of these to give as christmas presents to all my neighbor women. Now I bought this as a second one for my home. This one goes out into the barn where lids of different sizes need to be dealt with. Excellent craftsmanship. Should last for years!

It looks nice. It does open cans splendidly. Its one handed self clamping wheels are rather ingenious. And it can be used equally easily right or left handed. But there are two things I consider flaws. One minor, the other major. And they may not be issues for everyone, but they are for me.1) The mechanical housing is not watertight. When I got the can opener, the first thing I did was hand wash it with warm soapy water per the packaging instructions. While I have heard this can opener is dishwasher safe, the packaging does not say so. As a bit of a clean freak, I intend to put it in the dishwasher for sanitization if there is any doubt in my mind about its cleanliness. The quick minute wash I gave it resulted in about a tablespoon of water inside the can opener's mechanical housing. I shook the can opener, vigorously and strategically, to drive as much water as I could back out, but I do not want to do this every time I wash it. And ignoring it will result in a bacterial breeding ground inside the can opener. I consider this a major design flaw, but for those who never wash their can openers, it will be a non issue.2) This can opener does not have a bottle opener. After searching the reviews on amazon and the questions section, and seeing nothing on the subject, I resorted to surmising that the metallic dock-tie-down-looking protrusion on the left is a bottle opener. I was wrong. This is a button for clamping the built in pliers on the right. While I think it is absurd to have those tiny pliers on a can opener, it seems fashionable as many competing tools have them as well. Still, it is more absurd that no safety can opener seems to have a bottle opener on it! If you have another can opener, or a separate bottle opener, than this will again be a non issue. But to me it is ridiculous.Lastly, the can opener feels sturdily built except for the plier closing button, which is slightly loose and rattles in its socket. And the handle, though thoughtfully designed, is a little short. I do not have massive hands, but if I press my wrapped fingers forward to the finger guard, my hand still hangs an inch off the back. Not a big deal, but something worth noting if you have very large hands.Overall, a fine can opener with a few problems, be they major or minor, that keep it from being perfect.

I have had this can opener for 2 years and it still works well! Very dependable! It’s easy to use and very versatile. I can open up regular cans, not cutting myself because of the edge protection as well as open up so easily.

I plan to order another and maybe some for friends. Leaves no sharp edges and allows lid to be nested back on top of can for temporary storage of unused canned food in fridge.

I love the fact that the can opener does not leave food on itThe safety of leaving a nice clean edge on lid & can . This means easier to dispose of cans & lids without cuts or other injuries .I feel it is great quality , comfortable to hold & use , & it is very well built .

A great can opener that isn't like the old kind that would cut your hands up if you had to reach in to take out the cut off lid. It takes a bit of a getting used to as it doesn't cut as you would expect. It cleanly takes the top off from the side without any sharp edges. Great once you get used to it.

I still don't quite understand how it works, but it does. It's nice that there are no sharp edges and the lid doesn't fall into the can.

I mainly use this to open the food cans for my dog. Works exactly as shown. There are no sharp edges from the lid or the can itself after using this opener. Very convenient and fast to use.
