One of the Best, Low Cost Lanterns on the Market!
The Covmax USB Rechargeable lantern is driven by two powerful 18650s. The ability to swap them out is fantastic. This is one of the best, low cost lanterns available today.Features I like about this lantern:650 Lumen High, great for most tasks around the camp and home.Dual 18650 operation.Power Bank Feature.Simple Design. Can run on a single 18650.Will allow the use of other brands and types of 18650s.Low mode of 150 Lumens will run up to 20 Hours.Even distribution of light.IPX44 rated.Very Low Cost.Materials seem well made.Hanger on Top.Sturdy Base.USB micro charging cable included.Four Light modes.Features that could be added or improved on:Start out on Low instead of High.Remember last setting.O-ring or Gasket on top for extra waterproofing.Overall, this lantern may be one of the best values out in the market place today. I am on board the 18650 bandwagon, and the ability to swap out these out is fantastic. I recommend a multi-band radio like the Retekess TR-605 or XHData D-808 and a few flashlights that can run on the same power source.

Great value for the price. Uses removable 18650 batteries
Gret value for the money. I like that the 18650 batteries are removable. For those that use 18650 batteries for other electronics, you can use them to keep the lantern running. Decent runtime and very bright. Feels relatively sturdy and quality is decent for the price

Great bright light!
Likes:1) Powered by 2 18650 batteries which are included. Plus they can be replaced easily by removing the orange top. Works with 1 18650 battery too!2) Unit is rechargeable and has USB output to power other devices. Charge light turns to solid once charging is complete. Light turns to green when powering other devices.3) Good size and light weight, like the hook on top that does block the light.4) Very bright at high setting and has 4 different settings.Improvement:1) Add indicator to show remaining battery life.2) Think just high and low setting would be enough, can't tell much difference from high to 2 and third setting.3) Maybe add magnets on bottom to make even more versatile.4) Had to cycle thru to power off, wish I can press and hold to turn off.All in all, very happy with purchase. Price is fair at under 20 dollars. Would recommend and buy again if needed.

Widely adjustable brightness and very long battery life between charges
Price is low and quality appears good. These have two 18650 cells inside and you can remove one for something else and still use the lantern. Recharges with a 'car cord' or from a computer, but used only as bright as needed it will work for a multiple day power outage or camping trip. I have flashlights and radios which also use the 18650 cells too which is very handy. For a very long power outage you move the charged cells to which ever device was most important. With a car cord or Li charger you could recharge almost indefinitely.

Charging port is terrible
It is very bright and dimmable which is nice but I've only had it for two days and the charging port is already acting up, have to plug it in/ force it into the perfect angle or it won't charge.

Super value lantern!
The fact that this lantern comes with two 18650 lithium ion batteries already in it means it's worth the $17 right off the bat and the four settings from super bright to dim means the batteries will last a long time but it'll really light things up when you need it to!Overall in my opinion, it's a super value for the money with great battery life and perfect size and weight for camping or home emergency use with no bunch of non sense flashing and colored lights I won't ever use anyway.

Possibly a good lamp, but had an issue.
I bought this unit to try out over the name brand as there was >$100 difference and a few minor features.I've been looking for a bright lantern that uses 1850 removable batteries. Most are rechargeable only. Found this one and what is probably the original version but the original/ name brand version was more than $100 higher in cost.I got this version to test out expecting low possible quality. While the unit itself seems to be designed pretty good, I may have had problems with the batteries that came with it. I'm still testing to figure out what happened.I took it on a camping trip and worked ok the first night. The 2nd night it wouldn't turn on.When I got home to look at it I had trouble getting one of the batteries out of it. No obvious bulging but it was hanging up and not coming out. Don't recall if the documentation states it but you can use the lantern one one battery. While looking it over for the issue I had put one battery back in and not the problem one and it turned on. My kid is using it as a room lamp still.I think for the price it may be a good unit, but I did run into a problem. I haven't done any further testing but I suspect one of the batteries went bad. They are no label generic batteries so no idea of the quality. But if that's the case, thats an easy fix. While growing, there don't appear to be very many large area lanterns that use a removable 18650 battery. Most are either non-replacable rechargeable, or still use Alkaline batteries (usually D size). I'll continue to try this unit out for the price.
