Great story
Each chapter is written in the point of view of a different character. Wallace is a football player who ends up involved in the school play because he is on detention. The ending will surprise you - when you find out who was sabotaging the play. Great middle school fiction. I listen to our grandson read, and he loved it!

Dog lovers must-read!
Light reading that holds your interest. Very thoughtfully written, addressing all of our heartstrings regarding the many dogs that have perished at the hands of authors.

This would make a great classroom production
This book was great when I listened to it on tape. I enjoyed it so much that I began reading it aloud to my 5th grade class. That was a mistake. The book is in 5 or so different points of view and it's difficult to read this aloud, unless several people are reading the book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend anyone to read it, but if you do it as a read-aloud make sure to have the kids listen to it as a book on tape/cd or with several different experienced readers. Also be aware that the word "jackass" makes an appearance in the book several times, and that tends to cause a lot of snickering in class.

No More Dead Dogs
It was so cute..and the words that were used were just exactly what the kids this age use...my son stayed interested at every minute, although, getting started was taking getting used to with the different characters speaking...for instance: Enter: ....?.... So, once you got used to that kind of thing it was fine. The ending was surprising. Won't spoil it for others....it was a cute read!

Entertaining with sarcastic humor
This is a very entertaining book, especially for upper elementary and middle school students.

Enjoyable and Often Hilarious
Wallace Wallace will not tell a lie. And any reader of Harriet the Spy knows that this can sometimes lead you into hot water. But even Harriet perhaps did not anticipate the hot water Wallace Wallace would find himself in when he gave his honest opinion of his teacher's favourite book: "Old Shep, My Friend". One look at the cover and he can tell you that the dog is going to die. Not only is the book predictable but it has various other problems that Wallace Wallace would fix if he were the author... or indeed if he were to direct the school production of Old Shep. And accidentally, that is exactly what happens - to the annoyance of class mates and despair of teachers. This book is very funny. A good entertaining read all the way through. Some people claim it is the funniest thing they ever read. To me, it was not that good. But it was still thoroughly worth the time spent reading it. No more dead dogs is a perfect young adult read. And not just for dog lovers either!
