I have an iron that is on it's way out, that's why I bought a new one. It was so heavy. I read a lot of reviews before buying this iron. The one I wanted with a retractable cord was out of stock, so I purchased this one, which was my second choice. Other than not having a retractable cord, this iron has not disappointed me. It’s lightweight (but it is a good size—not a travel size), holds a lot of water, is very easy to operate, and heats up fast. It comes with a little cup that has a perfectly-shaped spout for filling the iron’s water reservoir. I am very happy with this iron. I read at least one review that said it was heavy. That is not correct. This iron is very lightweight.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and find them to be helpful. I've always bought heavy, expensive , professional irons. This time I decided to go with a less expensive. It is wonderful how light weight and yet does as great a job of expensive, heavy duty iron. I would recommend.

I iron a lot and another expensive iron was spitting rust & not heating up. This iron is different! It glides easily, gets hot, and stays hot. Best iron I have ever purchased! Highly recommend!

This is everything I wanted In an iron and then some! I wanted a heavy iron because I hate pressing down to remove wrinkles and this one fits the bill. The plate surface area is huge, it gets hot almost immediately and it glides effortlessly over fabric. I’ve used it on lots of cotton clothes with steam at the highest setting only so far but it’s awesome. The cord is in an odd place-on top of the iron instead of near the bottom but it didn’t get in my way. It was well-packaged and arrived quickly.

So far, this iron performs well. It gets hot and produces a good amount of steam. The cord is long enough to reach the far corner of my large ironing board. My reason for dropping a star is the alarming noise it makes when it achieves the temperature it’s set for. It’s disconcerting to have the iron make a loud pop when you have it in your hand.UPDATE: The iron still performs after several months. However, since I use it for sewing and turn it on and off manually to conserve power and avoid heat build-up (I live in Florida) the loud crack it makes a minute or so after I turn it on every time got to be too annoying for me. I am getting rid of it and dropping another star.
