Smooth and tastes great
Smells great, taste great, the caffeine shot in an 8oz cup is something to get used to.

So pho king good
I spent 2 weeks in Vietnam in November 2023 and have been yearning for more good robusta since I left Saigon with 5 lbs of coffee as a souvenir. This True Grit is every bit as amazing as anything I got in Hanoi or Saigon and I don't have to fly for 23 hours to get it. All the rumours about robusta being bitter are false if you dial in your brew. This is meant to be brewed fast and strong, like through a phin setup. I ran mine through my espresso machine for a 2:1 shot over 35 seconds at 195° and it was divine. Nutty, dutch chocolate, red raspberries. Kind of like a peanut butter Oreo. I'm a fan for life!

A perfect cup of pour-over coffee!
Lovely beans that are yielding a perfect cup of pour-over coffee for me every morning. This is my first bag of whole bean coffee, so I am hardly an expert on beans, but the cup I am making at home with this batch is better than the coffee available in the five shops within walking distance of my home. I chose this bag because Nguyen Tan Duog was my roommate in college one summer. And yet, I will keep buying Nguyen Coffee now that I have tasted it.

Included the roast date
The coffee has a decent flavor, but it didn’t taste like it was freshly roasted — it lacked that rich, vibrant aroma I usually get from fresh beans. It would be really helpful if the company included the roast date on the label so customers know how fresh the coffee is. Transparency about roast dates makes a big difference for coffee lovers!
