Fine value
I have a 14' wide gate which the wind would push open and actually shift the yoke plate on the fence post. This gate lock has solved the problem. It is holding up well during this first winter. My only complaint is that the lock does not unlock on the next cycle if I do not allow the gate to open at least 50% of the way.

Pretty good gate opener which could be improved with one feature....
Gate opener was easy to install and get working. It unlocks immediately prior to the gate moving and does keep gate closed. The only things I would add refer to closing. First, it doesn’t say this, but the gate essentially needs to slam to lock. If it slows down prior to meeting the bolt, there seems to be insufficient thrust to complete the locking mechanism. So, when you’re adjusting the closing spot, just make sure it slams. Second, I wish the locking feature would not require a slam to insure the lock locks. It seems that sometimes the lock ‘bounces’ especially with a little wind from the back, which can prevent it from fully locking. So make sure the lock actually grabs before leaving and don’t assume it actually did, because it might not 100% of the time. But overall, I am happy with the lock.

Not the best choice
Although a solid-made product, this item is about as good a lock for your gate as a cable-tie. The device works from a 12v current applied to the device when activated. When you open your gate the control board sends 12v to the lock which then opens the mechanism. If someone cuts the wire leading to the control box and touches the two leads to a car battery, the gate will unlock. For less than half the cost of this item two pin locks can be purchased and installed on the gate opener in about ten minutes and is a much more secure solution. This device also adds weight to the unsupported side of your gate. It’s unknown if this will cause problems in the future. Installation is different for each application but be prepared to measure, mark, drill, purchase bolts, and locate brackets, adapters or U bolts.Customer service is non-existent after purchase from WebDirectBrands T/A GateCrafters. The company sells everything from coffee machines to gates. Their “senior application engineer” is actually the company owner who is listed by the State of Florida as an auctioneer.

Great lock but has installation difficulties
The lock has been work working reliably for over a year.Unlike some other designs, this lock works for both single and dual swing gates. This lock is not a strong theft security device. It was designed to prevent people/animal/wind from accidentally pushing the gate in and damage the opener. You can look up the seller Gate Crafter (aka Web Direct Brands) and ask if the lock will work for you.It comes with a small board, which has a rotary dial to control when to release the lock after opening. For example, I can set the lock to close 2 seconds after opening. If you're using it on dual swing gates, then the gate opener control box must support delay opening of one gate. In other words, one gate must be able to open before the other. If they both open at the same time, then the lock would get stuck. In addition, when closed, one gate must close before the other. This can be accomplished by opening one gate out wider than the other. My control box didn't have these features, so I had to build a circuit to delay the timing myself and it was hard.

I like the idea of the roll pin rotating vs sliding ...
This lock worked well for about a week then the solenoid started to stick and then it stopped working. I like the idea of the roll pin rotating vs sliding but the solenoid was not strong enough I guess.

Has Never Worked More Than A Day Or Two
This thing has been problematic from the start, after much cleaning, adjusting, lubing it has never worked. It's nothing more than a stop for the gate which I could have made for $5.Junk!
