Great Idea! They're Great! But, Be Wary.
We often experience power outages when Nor'easters blow in, so I bought a pack of these rechargeable bulbs to help. At first, I thought they were great. They worked as advertised. You keep them charged, and when the power goes out, the bulbs stay on, so you're not left in the dark looking for a flashlight. They stayed lit for at least five or six hours, giving you the feeling that you still have power. I've used them for probably four months now, through two hours-long power outages. But today, while in the kitchen, I heard the bulb I have screwed into the ceiling light socket, where it has been for four months, begin to sputter and pop. It sounded like a Tesla coil. I immediately took it out. It was not hot, nor was it discolored. I read that these bulbs have a tendency to buzz sometimes, but this was not just a buzz. So, because of this experience, and because I cannot find anything more online about it, I am sadly not going to use them anymore. I was using this particular bulb in a socket controlled by a dimmer switch. I did read where that can have an impact on the behavior of some bulbs. So this may not be a bulb problem, but I will not take a chance. Too bad, because I like them. So, I would suggest just keeping an ear out when using them just to be sure.

When it works it’s great
Well I thought these weee really cool for power outages. The light is very bright when charged and you could really use it as a flash light was very impressed. BUT last night watching tv ( had it in a lamp using it like a regular light bulb ) I heard a POP sound couldn’t figure out. Woke up this morning and the light is on 🤷🏻♀️ well the light bulb won’t shut off the POP must have been something inside I unscrewed it still on screwed the little white cap thing on it and tried turning it off with that switch no luck so now it’s on my table ON 🤷🏻♀️ I hope the other 3 don’t break

fabulous I never want to be without these
best thing I ever got. Our power goes out all the time especially in the winter. putting these in the socket and letting "juice up" for a bit with regular electricity allows them to last longer when the electricity actually DOES go out. They can last for hours in the dark and beats having to carry a flash light around. I charge up the box so when the power goes out, I'm ready. The extra "hooks" can be used to hang the light bulbs without them needing to be in an actual light socket attached to an outlet. Once you get them, it's easy to understand. I never want to be without these!

Great in case you need emergency light - power failure at home or vehicle trouble on the road.
I think these are just great! They charge in a normal light bulb socket and are very bright. I put one in the vehicle for emergency use.

Will Not Fit Many Lamps - But Works Very Well
The problem is that these are very big bulbs and the harp, or frame, that lampshades connect to on a lot of lamps are too small for these to fit within. We found one lamp we had that will fit the bulb; its lampshade doesn’t use one of those harps or frames to attach it to the lamp. If you have that type then the bulbs will work fine. Otherwise you’ll be using it as a free hanging bare bulb, or buying a new lamp. One other thing I wanted to mention which seems to be confusing. As long as the lamp or fixture is a one-bulb unit with an on-off switch on the lamp itself, the bulb acts as any ordinary bulb. Turn the lamp on, bulb lights up, turn the lamp off and the bulb goes out, and then lights up if the power fails while the lamp is on. However, if you try to use one in a multi-bulb fixture, or one controlled by a wall switch, the bulb will always be lit even when the switch is off. Turning a wall switch off is the same as a power failure to the bulb so it will light up. So for my uses these bulbs aren’t that useful, primarily because of the size, but they function very well in the proper setting. When buying any such bulbs carefully check the listed dimensions, if there are any.

Backup lights
Although I haven’t had to use them yet. These will be perfect if we have power outages.

Good option
Ok. Where to start. They work. Charging only when lit. When you turn off the light they will not charge. ( No light=no power= no charge To run off internal battery, they supply a socket with switch, otherwise you unplug from the wall and put a jumper across the part that plugs into the wall.

Convenient and cost friendly
These light bulbs are really cool. I love that they're rechargeable and the bottom piece that allows you to hit a button to turn them on and off or hang them up is super easy to attach. I love these and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for convenient portable lighting or lights to have in case of emergency. 10 out of 5 stars! Thank you Amazon!

Great customer service
I purchased the 4 pack October 2023. Most recently 2 started flickering. I contacted Neporal and after ensuring them they were defective and not just plugged into a bad power source or in need of charging they very quickly sent me replacement bulbs. So far I am satisfied with their service and product.
