21351 Electrically Conductive Rear Window Defogger Tab Adhesive

Lately my old civic’s rear defogger tab kept popping off, which is fun when you’re driving home at 7am after a twelve hour night shift and the window’s fogged. I grabbed this stuff hoping to squeeze a bit more life out of the car instead of paying a shop. Cleaned the glass, cleaned the metal tab, pressed them together with tape, then let it sit while i tried to stay awake with cereal on the couch. Peeled the tape, snapped the connector back on, and it actually works again. I could see clearly backing out of the hospital parking lot, so I was pretty glad. Tiny tube, but for me it fixed that one annoying thing.

One weekend, I cleaned the contact area, followed the package directions, and used the adhesive to reconnect the tab. It’s a small job, but I took my time lining things up and left it alone for the recommended setting period. After that, I tested the rear defogger on a damp morning. The window cleared, and seeing the tab stay in place made me glad I picked this up instead of putting the repair off again. The package is small, so it doesn’t take up much room in the cabinet. Just read the directions before starting and give the repair the time it needs to set. I’m keeping the rest with my other car supplies for the next little fix that comes along.

The Instructions say to clean the Tab and a fresh area of the Window Defroster Grid, I scraped and sanded the tab to a bright metal surface. I lightly sanded a nearby area of the Window Defroster Grid. The Instructions say to knead the packet for 1 Minute to distribute the conductive particles within the adhesive liquid. I mixed it for 2 minutes to get an even looking mixture. The Instructions say to hold the metal tab in place for 1 minute to let the glue setup. I held the tab in place for 5 Minutes. The Instructions says to wait 24 hours before connecting the wiring and powering the Defroster. I waited a week for the repair to fully cure the adhesive. The connection felt solid and showed 0 Ohms resistance. On the next frosty morning; the defroster worked great. I powered it off within 5 minutes and the window was clear. (I didn't want to have the defroster running until timeout if it was not necessary.) That was the last time the Defroster worked. Upon further inspection; the metal tab is still solidly attached to the window; but there is 12+ Ohms resistance. Voltage was OK at the terminals and I noticed a spark as the meter probe brushed between the metal terminal and the Defroster foil on the Window. Power no longer passes between the Defroster Terminal and the Grid. Save your Time and Money from this product and spend it on a proper solder repair.

I cleaned the area, followed the directions, and held the tab in place while it set. The little moment that made me glad I tried it came the next chilly morning: I switched on the rear defroster and watched the fog clear instead of reaching for a cloth. It was a modest fix, but it saved me another trip to the repair shop. I still handle the rear window gently, and the tab has stayed put so far.

expensive, took a long time to dry, does not seem like it worked. instructions were clear. unknown how long it will last.

Where this helped was fixing the loose rear defroster tab on my old sedan. I sanded both contacts, used the little wipe, mixed the liquid till it turned brown, then held the tab on the glass for a couple minutes. Waiting 48 hours felt too long, and one corner still looks messy, but the defroster works again and im glad.

Followed the instructions and it glued on but my rear defrost still doesn’t work

Bit pricey, but worked well, follow instructions , clean tabs , and area to be applied, worked within 1 min to bond whilst holding it in place. Left it over night, all working again good product .
