Q: Se pueden ver galaxias, nebulosas etc?

You can see galaxies and nebulae with the 102, although there won't be a lot of detail. Maksutov-Cassegrains of this aperture are suited better to planetary and lunar viewing. For what you're asking about, larger apertures (150mm, for example) would be better.

Q: I'm extremely new to everything astronomy, but if i were to get this telescope, what additional items would i need for astrophotography?

If astrophotography is your main goal a Maksutov telescope such as this would not be the best choice unless your interest is moon. Please contact our support department at 310-803-5966. They will be able to assist you with finding the best arrangement.

If anyone is still wondering, I just weighed mine (180mm) and the OTA alone (without finderscope or eyepiece and diagonal) is 17 pounds.

No, mine does not say schotte optical glass. It still performs nicely, but I was very angry when I realized this is a bait n switch product
