Bought this for my 11 year old Kid and I was hesitant at first but I put it together and started talking on it and all was good in the House..

I got it to work but it required heavy amount of modifications on my part. The hinges don't tighten very well unless you put your entire body weight into them while pinning the bolts on the opposite side of the hinge locks. Technically you can reach any position within a 2.5 foot radius. That being said, the tension springs don't seem to do anything to help with the load. My biggest critique is the end piece to the arm is a threaded rod that is much thinner than the mounting threaded female connector on the bottom of the microphone. This wouldn't be an issue with the adapter that bridges the two but the most important piece is a shoddy plastic insert. The part didn't make it past the first day before it would overtighten to loose. If you are considering this stand, I hope you can think out of the box.

Does not support an AKG 200 mic w/shockmount. The middle adjusting knob on the stand arm slips and mic slowly drops down to the desktop. Maybe it was just this unit, but I returned it and got the NEEWER Adjustable Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand here on Amazon. It feel much sturdier and holds the AKG 200 just fine.
