THE NORTH FACE Men's Venture Jacket

Hard to find a reliable rain jacket anymore. NorthFace and most of the other big name companies have sold out (either partially or completely) to the hipsters and millennials who walk around in their gear and pretend to be hardened mountaineers. However, for those of us who actually do things outside other than vape, North Face did a solid with this jacket. Ordered this for a hike in Iceland. Although the hike hasn't happened yet, I will update when it does. Anyway, bought this as my primary rain and windshell and have had plenty of heavy rains up my way to test the jacket. Walked around outside for an hour in an absolute deluge and my chest, core and head stayed bone dry. You may have to wash with waterproofing solution after repeated use, but it certainly keeps the rain out and the wind is blocked as well. Coupled with a good thermal base layer, this jacket would serve well down to the 40 degree mark and perhaps even lower. My plan is to couple a wool baselayer, columbia omni heat down jacket and then this guy on top when in Iceland, then adjust that setup based on the temperature and weather. Overall, great rainjacket for the pric.

This jacket fit perfectly. I bought it for hiking, but it is not breathable at all. The first day I got this jacket I went for a hike in 30 degree weather. I had on a merino wool base layer, and about three miles into a vigorous hike, I could tell that condensation from my body heat was building up inside the jacket. When I got back to my car after hiking eight miles, the wool base layer was very damp. I have not worn and will never wear this jacket during a hike ever again.

Since ordering last year the jacket still looks brand new. I ordered it for my son and he really likes the fit and the way it looks on him.

This is a great raincoat. My wife bought it for me and it comes as advertised. I've had other lightweight raincoats before and the NorthFace is as good as any, if not better. I've already worn this through a few heavy rainfalls it is definitely waterproof. I'm about 5'10"-180lbs and large ended up being the right size for me. The medium would have likely worked and been more form fitting. However, I went a size bigger so that I could wear layers under this. This jacket is meant to keep you dry, not warm. Other cool features include the armpit zippers which adds breathability and my favorite feature, a pull-string for the hood. The hood is large and kept drooping down over my face. I then discovered the pull-string for the hood which completely solved this issue. Nice to see that they provided a solution for this. I dinged this coat for a star due to the price. I like NorthFace and all, but I think $84 is too pricey.

Very nice jacket , very high Quality when I first put on the jacket it fit well there was velcro straps to adjust ur wrist and your hips , very nice for cold weather beacuse of the cool and heat material too keep you warm over all I love the jacket and looking forward to buying another color

No issues and regular usage for the past 6 years (2016-2022). I anticipate many more years of use!

It’s just a windbreaker !I expected a real jacket !Cheap looking .

Too thin and flimsy feeling for my taste.
