The Golden Sandal: A Middle Eastern Cinderella Story

My kids liked the story
My kids liked the story, however the illustrations did not interest them. I felt in some pictures the "cinderella" character looked too similar to her stepsister- needed a bigger contrast in looks and clothing for the big scene. Also the prince illustrated looks too old and the golden sandal for which the book is named needed more oomph amd decoration.

Amazing book!
I actually bought a few copies of this book and have always given it to new parents or friends who are in teaching/childcare careers. The book arrived earlier than expected and in great condition too. The print is very easy to read (the font is a standard size), and the illustrations make you feel like you're in the Middle East. Overall, this was such a great book to give, and I think kids will really enjoy it

Nice
Well drawn and interesting story. I have some older, beautiful childrens' books and this one compares well to them. I think it's a great idea for children in western culture to see this. It may not be spot on from cultural standpoint but it shows a distinct difference.

Beautiful!
I like to see how different variations of classic stories are told throughout the different countries. This story was beautifully told and the pictures are a wonderful addition. I plan on using this story for a Compare and Contrast study on Cinderella for my 2nd graders.
