Are the buttons silent when clicked please?

No, the clicks are not silent on this mouse. It was the main reason for me returning it.

anyone know why it has become inverted all of a sudden? Worked fine for 2 months then just ranfomly started that. Inverted settings are off for games.

3 months old and X/Y inverted? Tested on anther computer ands it’s definitely the mouse.

Is it possible to turn the lights off using the buttons on the mouse?

Yes - found it by accident! The 2 small buttons on the top below the wheel. The one closest to the wheel cycles through the different flashing colours, the bottom one cycles through the flashing and rainbow effects. A few quick clicks on the bottom one and you'll reach the lights off mode (well, apart from a very faint red which I assume is the light sensor on the bottom coming through). Adjust the sensitivity through your windows control panel - even on setting 1 (the lowest) it's still faster than my laptop trackpad, but I prefer it that way!

Can this be used for normal work at a PC? Or is it purely a gaming mouse?

I use it at work. As long as your workplace is ok with your mouse glowing rainbow colours all day!
