Top Quality Spices
What a fragrant, pungent, extraordinary spice mix! For years I've made my own spice blends. I won't be making dukkah anymore. I purchased the blend with hazelnuts and it was perfect. It was fresh when received and I like the easily sealed foil packet.

Ingredients not all crushed or evenly distributed-ok flavor
Seemed fresh enough but the preferred nutty Palestinian dukkah flavor was lacking…Also, hazelnuts were uncrushed/mostly whole which also takes away from the desired spice flavor. Though one could simply empty the bag of spice into a grinder or use a pestle if you want to take the time-otherwise it’s ok but rather small quantity for the price.

Love it
This is great as a topping for breads. Great on hummus. Good in stew/casserole type dishes; less so in soups. But one of my absolute favorite experiments was mixed into mac-n-cheese. It also goes great with beans. I was not above just pinching some up and eating it by itself. I experimented with making my own, but so far I still like this one better than any of my own results. The flavors and the texture are simply perfect.

This is not Dukkah!!!!
This is NOT Egyptian Dukkah which traditionally is made from ground nuts and is quite spicy. The one I tried in Egypt would cause you breathe fire! It’s nutty, earthy, and has the consistency of sand from all the ground nuts. This is not even close! It’s more like they took Za’atar spice blend (which is completely different) and threw in a handful of whole hazelnuts. You’re supposed to dip your bread into olive oil and then dip it into the Dukkah and all that goodness is glued to the bread with the oil. How is a whole hazelnut supposed to stick to the bread? Seriously, take out the nuts and just sell it as Za’atar. It’s actually pretty tasty as a spice blend. I’d buy it again if they called it anything other than Dukkah.
