2 years of heavy use
I bought this when I was just starting out as a stop-gap measure. I didn’t put any faith in it and figured I’d get a better one with tree money eventually. Two years later, I’m still rocking the generic, knock off hand-ascender. The device shows no signs of wear, stress/compromise and my ropes are holding up nicely to it. I’m a pretty big guy (225lbs) and carry about 50lbs up in the tree regularly. I use a zigzag (life-support) and a quality foot ascender, so I don’t feel like I’m jeopardizing safety using this device. I say it’s a champ, or at least the one I have is great!

The foot and hand ascender are good, the strap is unusable. Oh well

While a double handed is what I want next this one has been a sturdy and efficient tool.

Well-built
This is a solid and relatively heavy gear that locks easily and at the same time securely. The unlocking is easy but the way it is made it would prevent accidental release. I used it to climb to the top of my roof to do some handy work and it performed well.

Es un producto que a la vista se ve de calidad, aunquel color rojo viene muy tenue, parece más rosado que rojo. Falta probarlo para ver su efectividad, pero el color no me gustó mucho.

It works, but could be better.
It works and works fine. But if it has had a heavy load, then you try to take it off the rope, it's not the easiest thing to get off. It's almost impossible to do one handed. The lever to disengage it just isn't well designed, so it jams and you have to use two hands to unjam.It's not the end of the world, and it is a budget price, so I can't complain really.
