Venco Coin Shaped Licorice 5.9 Oz (Pack of 2)

I grew up in The Netherlands and especially during covid, I missed the comfort of my Dutch candy. Having this reminded me of my dad taking bowls of it to work parties. Very nostalgic. Very yummy.

I really really like this licorice. Its not as sweet as some, and not as soft as some, but that's why I like it. It's sweet enough and chewy. I've been watching my bad eating behavior and find this satisfies my sweetness craving fabulously. it's my overall favorite licorice.

Just a tad salty. Delicious Dutch licorice. For those who mentioned it tastes off, gross, bla bla: it's not supposed to taste like your usual American style black licorice (ie Twizzlers). This is more of an acquired taste I suppose. Yes, it's weird at first but grows on you big time haha!

This is just like the stuff you can get all over the Netherlands. Echte munt drop.

For those with occasional heartburn / acid / indigestion these are an excellent natural remedy. I used to reach for the OTC antacids when I had heartburn but a friend suggested these, specifically.....I haven't used an antacid since I purchased these! If you have chronic stomach issues they may not help but it wouldn't hurt to try? We used to be a society that increasingly emphasized all-natural remedies but for the past 2 years this has been often frowned upon with certain "issues"..... Time to get back to it.... This is a great start!!

I had a craving for some licorice so I ordered these hoping that they'd be like a harder version of Haribo Pontefract cakes (which are great). When I first tasted the Venco licorice coins, the texture was good but I quickly noticed a weak flavor of licorice and an unpleasant taste of ammonia. I checked on the list of ingredients and saw "ammonium chloride 2%". Not sure why a candy manufacturer would add that :-(. Perhaps others may like them but I can't eat them.

It's genuine Venco Dutch drop with real licorice root instead of brown sugar and anise. I love the taste and it soothes my stomach and slightly raises my low blood pressure so it's a triple win for me. Product arrived fresh and in good condition.
