Pitch Perfect
These stories take you back to classic Star Trek and give you the adventure you need. These are smart new stories that build on TOS canon. You really can’t ask for more.

Dovetails Nicely with TOS
Year Five Book 1 is masterfully done, and I would recommend it to anyone who is also interested in TOS.- I liked it dovetails nicely with previous TOS films and cartoons. It also maintains the late 60's, early 70's vibe (but in comic book form). The storyline is entertaining and the quality of the comic book images is fantastic (I can only speak for the Kindle version).- No major cons, and I enjoyed the book immensely- I gave the book 5/5 because of its respect for previous TOS canon, maintenance of the vibe that makes TOS unique, and entertaining storyline/graphics

Highly Enjoyable Star Trek Comic! Feels like Actual Series Episodes!
I was really intrigued with the concept of IDW's Year 5, having really enjoyed the fan created series Star Trek Continues, and have been really impressed with this series so far. I purchased the first two issues for the covers when I was at a Comic and Game store on a whim (I really love Tholians) and decided to pick up this collection having surprisingly enjoyed the first two issues. You can tell from the quality of the writing what a difference having a comic writer's room makes. It feels like I am watching actual episodes of Star Trek, down the the rich and on-point characterization of each of the main cast members. Uhura in particular really shines, showing the full range of her linguistic and command abilities. I can't recommend this comic enough if you enjoy the Original Series and would like to sit back and enjoy more Star Trek episodes!!!

Very pleased
Excellent book. I am amaze how clear The pages are. They are all glossy in thick . Not your regular comic Book. It would be more Like a magazine with thick pages. They are work is excellent although some characters are not exact their very close.I really enjoy the way they put the Chapters down as episodes. Not chapters. As This start out as the 4 season of Star trek the original. I enjoy going to More of the Background of a character we heard very little of in the original.

The second graphic novel with all the original characters of the Star Trek Enterprise Crew
Its like the series never ended. I loved the original Star Trek series and still think it was the best of all of them (though I love them all) and I was very please to see these new graphic novels continue the stories from my favorite characters. So get these new graphic novels and relax and boldly go where the original missions stopped and should have continued ......YAY!!! First star to the right, warp factor one, engage!!

Fantastic homage to the classic Trek
Amazingly detailed artwork that doesn't devolve into pure comic-book hyperbole? Yes, it IS possible and this lovely gem proves it. True classic Trek-style adventures - presented with classic Trek-style morality elements - makes this an amazing example of contemporary TOS storytelling. So many modern takes dial up the violence and gore, and this one rises above that impulse beautifully. My 10 year old son is two hours late for breakfast this morning because he can't put it down.Already pre-ordered the next edition, and hoping there are many more still to come.

Perfectly Hits the Tone of the Original Episodes
The artwork is really good. The story feels in line with TOS. The dialogue and actions of the characters feel right and I am reading in their voices. I ordered the other 2 as soon as I finished this one.

The Five Year Mission Draws to a Close
A vicious attack leaves an entire Tholian colony dead, apart from a lone child. When Captain Kirk discovers evidence that suggests that the colony was destroyed by the Tholian Government, he grants the child political asylum, fully aware that his decision could lead the Federation into war.A fascinating series of episodic stories, which interlink well and address themes of growing older, separation anxiety and exploring consequences of more carefree days. The artwork is wonderful and nuanced, as shown when Scotty hits the captain's chair companel with his left hand, which actor James Doohan did on the series to hide the missing finger on his right hand.
