TX Brisket Rub

This is the second bottle of Killer Hogs TX Brisket rub. The entire family goes crazy over the flavor. It provides great flavor, not overly salty, and makes a wonderful bark. It doesn’t add any heat level, so it’s great for everyone.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose this rub as a replacement for the now defunct Oak Ridge BBQ rub called "Black Ops" that was exceptional on brisket, based on some online reviews I saw. It turns out it is a near-perfect replacement. Exceptional flavor, good but not too much salt, and builds up a great bark on Brisket, short rib racks, and the like. Great stuff.

I have tried several brisket rubs and seem to always come back to this one. It is simple but just the right mix of everything. Helps create a perfect bark on brisket and can be used on other types of meat as well. This will continue be my go to for brisket.

I needed a rub for a brisket and this is what I came across. I found it to have a great flavor but the brisket turned out a little salty for my taste. I went heavy with the application and if I were to use this rub again, I would cut the coverage in half. I may or may not use this rub again.

Excellent! Used as a dry rub on brisket. Very pleased with the overall flavor. Not overpowering with just the right amount of salt. You don't need to heavily coat for a good bark. Simple... rinse, dry, rub, set. Glad I found this on Amazon (free shipping) looked at other dry rubs online and shipping more than doubled the cost of a $10 shaker!

This stuff is great. I use it for brisket and steaks. It gets a good bark and flavor on brisket and it’s versatile enough for steaks. Like most rubs it’s on the saltier side, but about the same as a Montreal steak seasoning.
