Getting Two Grips...
This is a nice pair of hand grips for those who want to increase strength or suffer from illnesses that cause a loss of strength and motor function. They have just enough resistance to make you work for it without being too much. They are the perfect size to tuck in a bag or into a desk drawer when you want to work the muscles in your hand and arm.I appreciated that they were not the gross fuzzy, foamy, rubbery mess than some grips use for the handles that can burn your palms. They are a little hard on the hands after a bit, but that may just be because I have tender hands. Overall, great buy for the price. These are the first that I have purchased and it was a good first time experience with this particular strengthening tool. Arrived in a timely fashion and would recommend both seller and product if you are in the market for some inexpensive grips to get you through the work day and any long typing sessions.

Not for beginners...
I began my search for some good grip strengthening equipment a few months ago...It was a pathetic sight, watching me fight & fuss with various jars & bottles, who's lids would just NOT come off for me!First, I purchased the blue & red Gripmaster Hand Grips from Amazon...they were amazing, but you progress through them so quickly, that they become unchallenging after a couple weeks. So, Instead of spending another $12 on the black Gripmaster, I purchased these Valeo Grips.I'm not thrilled. To strengthen your hands and forearms, it is recommended that you go for more repetitions, rather than high resistance. It is impossible for me to do more than 3 sets of 15-20 squeezes with these because the resistance is so tough. The handles themselves are not conducive to more reps. Once your hands become damp, they slide a bit, making it harder to squeeze and keep correct form. For someone more advanced, I'm sure these will be fine for you, but for those just starting on a strengthening routine, I'd avoid these for now.

Good but slippery
I bought these with the intention of building up my hand strength. I work out 3-5 times a week, and consider of decent hand strength to begin with. I think these are pretty good in terms of providing a workout for your hands. Size is nice as well, as I often find them too small for my hands in stores. I do have a couple of points that keep them from being higher than 3 star:1) The material is not the least non-slip. Get sweaty hands and they're like trying to squeeze a fish, and slide all over your hands.2) The edges of the molded "finger" sides are rather uncomfortable. It's not very rounded, so they tend to make the skin on your fingers sore well before your hands feel well worked out.If you wrap them in a small hand towel, both issues are reduced, but looks ridiculous.Overall, for 6.50, they're not bad...just not that great.

Excellent value, performs as advertised
I bought these to replace identical grippers that finally failed after nearly a decade due to metal fatigue, I certainly got my money's worth out of them and was happy to buy grippers of identical design to replace them. In reference to the reviews that say they are difficult to grip and hard/painful to your hands, bear in mind you may be a beginner and your hands certainly become stronger and they are more comfortable with time...if it's significantly painful, try wearing gloves, because padded grippers will cost you several times more and give no more benefit than these cheap ones. Start by repeatedly closing them as far as you can, when you are strong enough to close them comfortably, squeeze them closed faster and faster with more repetitions. I also reverse the grip and aqueeze so my thumbs do most of the work, so they are equal with my fingers. A good value and rscommended without reservation.

Good for beginners, resistance becomes easy after a few weeks
For the price, you can't beat these grips. Of course they aren't that comfortable without any padding, but the point is to build strength and resistance to pain. The grips with the cushion handles make little sense to me, almost like recliner in the weight room.I used these daily for a couple weeks, and the resistance is much less difficult. It would be nice to be able to adjust the resistance level, but again, for the price....I definitely got $6 worth of use out of these. My wife now has them, as the resistance is perfect for her. If you need some hand grips cheap, these are great.

Works well and does the job
I bought these for about $6 all together with shipping and you get 2 sets of them. Yes they may hurt your hand if you are a beginner but if you are serious about strengthening your forearms, then get these. I very much dislike when people say "oh I wish they had pads or foam grips to protect your hand." Well when was the last time you went to the gym to lift weights and they had foam handles on them to be easy on your hands? I have been using them for about 2 weeks now and I would give them a solid B. Would recommend to anyone who is serious in their training.

warned but purchased
I received these a week ago and have used them a couple of times. They are much cheaper than others offered on here (in price and quality). Other reviewers have complained about the slipping that happens when your hands become sweaty. I have found that to be true, but always tell myself, "Hey, they were 5 bucks, get over it!" It doesn't hurt to take the small break of readjusting any displacement during the use. No pain, no gain, right? If you are on a budget and want to start small to achieve high goals, sure, get these. I like these for what they are. Not love, like.

great hand exerciser for the money
The bottom part of the handle where my pinky fits is little too far out for my hands. I wear large gloves to give you some idea how far the grips are apart and the length of the handles. I can get more comfortable grip by switching the way I grab the handle. I grab the finger groove part with the thumb palm and wrap the thumb palm around the four finger grooves. I use it to exercise my thumbs too. when exercising thumbs try varies positions to find the best comfortable grip. You might even want to grab the handle up side down to find more comfortable grip. I use it to circulate the blood in my hands and it's a good hand exerciser. The price is also great.
