Tie Down Heavy Duty Zinc Plated Steel Spare Hub and Tire Carrier

I had to return the tire mount, but that was due to it being a 5 bolts and my trailer tire were 6 bolts. The tire mount is well made, the price is great. The idea of mount your spare on a hub makes sense. If I need extra bolt or lugs, I can use the one mounted on the hub and replace them later. It comes with (2) bolt mounting U bolts and mounting holes allows for enough space for mounting. I ended up finding a 6 bolt but this one is better built. This one also has a eye lid to run a lock cable thru to secure from theft. if you have a 5 bolt this one is the one for you.

I use this with a spare tire in the downward position to launch my boat and trailer from my own concrete boat ramp. it works great! I have a winch that lets the whole works down in the water and then I back the boat off the trailer. I had to make a brake for it so I can drive the boat back onto the trailer but that was pretty simple. It would also work great as intended to hold a spare tire, hub bearing and be ready to go in case of an emergency on the road. Metal is painted and not galvanized, my only complaint.

I bought this to chain launch a boat. I attached it to the front of my trailer, near the tongue. I have a Capri 25 on a custom made double wheel trailer. This hub took the weight of the boat and let it roll straight. You need a standard trailer tire to go with it. This worked, although the tire looked like it was at it's max. A quality product, I have not seen anything comparable.

This setup makes it easy to carry a spare hub which I may very likely be selling on the roadside to someone not as well prepared. I see more trailers pulled over with bad hubs than I do with flats.Get yourself one !

Bolted this on the tongue of one of my boat trailers to have all spare parts for bearings, seal, nut, hub, etc. and then bolted my spare rim & tire on this hub to also carry my boat trailer spare tire ! Perfect !

Easy to install and very well built !

Does not fit I-beam trailer of 4.5" Height - Would have been nice if this SPEC was listed in the Amazon Description. - Waste of Time ordering and having to send back. Product could have and Should have been made just a bit larger to accommodate more modern aluminum i-beam boat trailers, or clearly mentioned otherwise!
